ah just thought is it like the money tins that look like beans tins?

Yes...........was me.................:rotfl: I did this last year, some were jars with dried beans in, my sons had raw plugs in so he could hide spare key in the shed........granddaughters had hair bobbles and grandsons had marbles.............got to be one of the cheapest xmas pressies I've ever made.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Getting close isn't it :D Can I be cheeky and ask that when the new thread starts up can someone pretty please post a link to it in here? It's just that I'm subscribed to this thread and I get lost very easily on the boards so would love to be able to find it and play along from the start next year :)

I agree this would be great - I'm current sat in Bangkok Airport feeling very UnChristmassy so have come on here to see what you're all up too :D I don't get home until 10th Jan and would hate to lose you all in the meantime
  • Hello lovely peeps! I need some creative help and thought I'd be best asking you guys! I made up my Snowman Soup's and handed them out at school, and they went down very well. The teacher in my class loved them, and said she'd love to make something similar with the kids when we go back in January, as we have a snowman theme after Christmas whilst we do all the Winter stuff.

So I've been left to think of something to make with the kiddies, that would be along those lines but simple. I've also got lactose intolerant kids in my class, so wouldn't be able to do the chocolate. The marshmallows would be fine, and still nice and snowman-ny, but I can't think what else, or what to call it if I'm nt going to mix it like the soup.
  • :DI just want to say thankyou to everyone who has contributed to this thread which has helped me sooooo much this year. i have been alot more organisedthan ever and made some lovely gifts that i'm hoping people will appreciate more than a random bought gift from the high street.

i am snowed in at the moment and it is still snowing heavy in Blackburn!!!! Anyone else got the same problem? I hope it clears tomorrow as i still have presents to deliver ahhhh:eek:.

Going to make a chocolate log and some rocky road with my daughter today and start chilling:D

mrbrightside842 - if the marshmallows will be ok and if you can get white ones you could fill jars up as 'pots of snowballs' or make snowmen from odd white socks, put the marshmallows in cellophane, pop them inside and its a snowman full of snowballs......or, if the children can bring an empty jar from home the 'pots of snowballs' could become snowmen with some goggle eyes stuck on or painted on. For the hat a sock would do.........just cut off the top and tie a ribbon or elastic band round it to make if look a bit like a ski hat.............piece of ribbon for a scarf.
Sorry, can't think of anything else at the minute but I did a few of these myself this year and they worked out ok. hope that helps

Mrs Brightside I love your quote about spellings. Many moons ago I wrote to a boy who would return my letters when he replied in RED he would correct my mistakes!! No he didn't last long!
