Thanks Kim and yep, i have an erm, extensive collection/selection of papers etc! :rotfl:

The elephant is from a Hero Arts set of stamps
The notelets are just plain card cut down to fit in the box - 5.25x 4 inches. Ive popped 30 stamped notelets inside and will pop in some pixie stick sherbets and a pen/pencil set :)
At the minute they are just in some 8x8 square card cellophane packets but they wont seal - its ok for now just to keep them clean etc but once i get the bits to finish them off properly i will either get some bigger packets or wrap them in the same cellophane used for the hampers etc :)

NEgirl - you have been busy - they're brilliant :T

Came back from hospital a bit earlier today after killing time round Focus to get paint for the kitchen then found a lovely card//craft shop..........could have spent hours(and fortunes) in there but OH was getting a bit tired so we went on to hospital. We were about hour early but he had his scan anyway so we got home sooner than expected............now its a case of waiting for results.
No crafting got done today.......chappy was washing down walls in the kitchen ready for painting tomorrow so looks like nothing will be done tomorrow either:confused:
Just as well I'm about done with everything...........just a few christmas decs. to do
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I have a 3rd question .... the boxes have different patterns on the outside and in.... is this just double sided 12 by 12. Or have you cut squares out and glude onto card?

I cut out the squares and strips and double sided taped them to the card - i just used plain card for the boxes - simple A4 will do and then you can probably get around 2 or 3 box decorations out of a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper :) Just place the paper next to the box and put a little knick where you need to trim - most of the boxes will vary very slightly as it depends how deep you have scored/folded etc :)

  • Hi everyone,

I have a quick question. I'm going to make chocolate slabs for lots of people as gifts from my son. I was hoping to make a start on them tomorrow as I have a rare few hours free. But, will they keep? I could wrap them in tinfoil and then unwrap them nearer Christmas to wrap in the cellophane.

I would really like to start them tomorrow, but I don't want to make loads only to find they've gone funny by Christmas.

I personally wouldn't risk it. Not unless you can keep the chocolate shiney looking (there is a posh name for that but cant remember what). I just wouldn't do it this far in advance. Sorry :( Ask on the slab thread they may have more experience
