  • In Sainsburys I saw Ideal Homes Magazine -2009 Crafting for Christmas special. I flicked throught it and found most of the items had already been mentioned here. Two stood out:
    Candle Cupcakes and gardener pots.

    Gardening pots
Take a paint tester and a terracotta pot and paint it.
Fill a sandwich bag with compost and place sealed in the painted pot.
Place packs of seeds on top.
    Decorate with a ribbon etc.

    Candle Cupcakes
They had silicone cupcake cases, wax, liquid for colouring the wax and wicks.
Basically the instructions were to heat the wax to correct temp then add the colouring [fairy cake beige]and pour into 3/4 full silicone bun case, leaving some room for the "icing".
The icing consisted of colouring the wax with a pink colour and pouring on top of the 3/4 full cupcake case.
Add the wick while still runny.

Sorry if this isnt a very good explanation of this, but id tried to google but other instructions are very complicated.
If anyone buys the magazine maybe they could post exact instructions.

http://computerchristmas.com/christmas/link-how_to/HowToId-14/LowLimit-0 check out these candy canes. I have bought some white pipe tonight for my husband to bend some for me, my pipe is a little thicker so hope it works!. I then plan to mask it in a spiral design and spray it red. I am going to buy 2 sets solar powered fairy lights and wrap 1 set round each cane for me. They will then be secured outside at the side of our steps.

    Sethsgran,
Please keep us updated on how you get on with these, would love to try!!
