This is a pic of my sweetie test tube.
I got the test tubes from e-bay. Unfortunatley the tops were hollow so I had to put a large flat back gem over them. They were not too expensive, I think about £1.99 - £2.50 for 10????
U can get 13 of the posh type of jellybeans in them, the ones you can buy by colour, so I chose a christmasy red, white and green to go with the red gingham ribbon.
But because of the range of colours it is easy to match to any colour ribbon if you like.
The metal rimmed tag is from a Papermania pack, but you could easily use any sort of small punch.
I am still looking for test tubes that are a little wider that would fit smarties - if anyone sees any??

The jar i used for this one is an old Nescafe one 200g so i think thats around the size you need to aim for for standard cookies in a jar mixes :)

Thank you! Only problem now is I don't drink coffee! I've already text people asking for their old jars, got a lot of "What? Why?!" texts in response lol I love this thread, when I have time later I'll look through all the pages. :)

Yes, pickled bums!!! ............ bet you are confused now.
If you add a nipple to each cheek ....... easily converted to pickled boobs too :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Apparently you can add sand and have a 'jar of beach bums' :rotfl:

I've decided to do the cookies in a jar for my cousin and his wife  so now that is...

    pots of gold
    balls of life
    ideal man
    reindeer poo
    snowman poo
    snowman soup
    sock monkeys
    box of hugs
    cookies in a jar....

I went from doing nothing homemade last year to everything this year!

NEgirl love your cookie in the jar.looking at it ,its a good idea to do cookies as you can top up the jar with the cookie toppings rather than having extra space if jar not exactly the right size for ingredients

    janey xxx

This mix is for cookies and half the smarties were to add to the mix - the other half were to be put on top as decoration :) Instructions are written on the back of the tag :)

is there a link to the cookies in a jar recipe and are the smarties for toppings or do you put them in the main mix
was going to get my nieces and nephews a box cake packet mix but might do these instead ( should say I'm making them baking hampers , not just buying them a packet cake mix for christmas lol )

There are loads of recipies on this page for 'mixes in a jar' http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Desserts/Cookies/Cookie-Mix-in-a-Jar/Main.aspx - there are masses of sites out there with recipies for different mixes :)

I am wanting to show some friends how to make these trees but I am having problems finding the right fabric cheap! I got mine in America, £1 yard, when visiting my daughter but didn't think to bring more back with me. The fabric is like a brushed cotton and it needs to fray when you tear it. Any thoughts on cheap fabric sites I have tried some but their prices are too much for what I am doing.http://bp2.blogger.com/_38HVINaXUL8/RXoM1q20PgI/AAAAAAAAAXU/BiGPyLx4HL4/s1600-h/IMGP2441.JPG These aren't mine they are the image from the site

Sharon - Bakerella is one of my favourite sites to drool over! Have you made the cupcake pops yet? They are delicious and although took a while to do, were well worth it!
