I'm starting to seriously think about xmas now (eek!) and want to make the Cookie In A Jar for my sisters, I have the recipes and the ingredients but I've no idea on the size of the jar I'd need. Can I use a coffee jar and decorate it or would I need a bigger one? If so, where do you get them?

I was thinking the same thing myself, the ones I've seen online look like they're in quite big jars. But then I don't want them to be too big because all the lovely seperate layers will just get shaken together into a big mess. Are the ones people have gotten in a pack of 3 from the poundshop quite big?

The jar i used for this one is an old Nescafe one 200g so i think thats around the size you need to aim for for standard cookies in a jar mixes :)

NEgirl love your cookie in the jar.looking at it ,its a good idea to do cookies as you can top up the jar with the cookie toppings rather than having extra space if jar not exactly the right size for ingredients

is there a link to the cookies in a jar recipe and are the smarties for toppings or do you put them in the main mix
was going to get my nieces and nephews a box cake packet mix but might do these instead ( should say I'm making them baking hampers , not just buying them a packet cake mix for christmas lol )
