jpwhittle - what i'd do to get around that problem is - get cheap plates and use a porcelain pen to draw a circle outline for the mince pie and carrot shape for the carrot and write something cute like "santa's treat goes here" etc in the shapes that way you don't have to worry about keeping foods fresh etc

Actually just had another thought - since you're already adding reindeer food maybe you don't need the carrot at all? That way you can get a smaller plate just for santa?

Hi Folks...have just posted in the Finished Baskets thread about how successful the pint glass with black socks & a cream-coloured flannel was, for a male b'day last month. I said about cracking lager & a vodka+scarlet-male-cow variety next when bham!
A hi-ball glass with tights as opposed to socks!!!!
I'm guessing the finer the denier the clearer the colour & oerhaps knee-highs are in less colour choices & obviously suitable for :female:..any ideas for the :male: in my life? Think I may attempt a wine glass with claret socks too, although I'm still waiting for a rellie with one of those little craft drills to engrave some names on glasses--another idea from last crimbo that didn't come to fruition :o

They are absolutely brilliant Irishgirl!! I'm so jealous! I'm struggling with the boxes for the balls of life

I varnished my gingerbread men with pva glue ( did stick on sticker saying do not eat!!)
Just got the mini gingerbread biccies from Asda - 30 for £1.50 i think - then just put the poem on card then in a self seal bag that you use for cards - look v cute

How about the metallic tissue 'paper' to wrap the ball - think they use similar for bath bombs??
