I was just hoping to make a ball as like I said, I've never done it before so didn't want anything too complicated. I was using red wool and a 5mm needle (which is what the lady at the shop recommended). I think I'll give it a go with really chunky wool, I thought I was doing a round perfectly before, followed the instructions, and it ended up in a big knot, but because the yarn was so thin I couldn't figure out where I went wrong. But then again I'm one of those people who learns better from being physically shown how to do it, so will have to find a video, or get my nanna to teach me :o To keep this all on topic a bit more, I was hoping to make some simple christmas decorations like stars, might concentrate on trying flat things before going 3D
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

To use the red yarn why not try this video tutorial of crocheting a amigurumi cherry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7moLuvusww&feature=PlayList&p=0EAFA991B4D73EFB&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=7

If you want a christmas decoration perhaps try this when you got the hang of things :)

hello everyone... OK to join in?

I'm Nici... from Wirral... but spend half my time in Devon with OH

Hoping to have a home made christmas this year.. Also do a few craft fairs over the year (both for myself and the charity I work for) so will be good to get some ideas...

Sooo much to go through .. it's great )

What I'm thinking at the moment is food and drink stuff.. all organic and locally sourced where possible... and well.. as much as possible of anything else
