Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for crafty Christmas decorations to go up on walls? We have a lot of tree decs, and I'm going to make an advent calendar with 24 mini stockings, but other than that I'm a bit stumped. Am ok at crafty things, I just take along time to finish them so am hoping to be a bit prepared and if I start now, I might finish something by December...
Sorry if this has already been discussed, haven't read this whole thread yet (I will get round to it though) but if you could point me in the direction of any appropriate threads or links it would be much appreciated!

you can make some cute bunting with felt, snowmen etc, wouldn't be too hard. Or even some bunting with red and green or other Christmas colours.
Or what about a lovely wreath? There are some lovely wicker ones, or even plastic ones which you could soup up with pine cones etcGod is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day

Claire - this year I'm having a go at little felt christmas trees, mittens, snowmen and other stuff to drape along my old pine dresser -I'm sure that sort of thing would look good on a wall as well.
Can't think of any sites off hand though -could do with some piccys myself as a guidelineI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Well, I've just read through the entire thread and looks like felt things will probably be the best idea
Loving the little felt gingerbread men especially. Also saw some nice shabby chic style hearts made from gingham and nice ribbon which would be nice and easy :rotfl: Got lots of sites and pictures saved into my new Christmas favourites folder anyway so will just need to stock up on supplies and get cracking
Also, for those discussing amigurumi, I was wondering if you have any tips for an absolute beginner. I bought some wool and a crochet needle, and managed to crochet a straight line, but despite looking at loads of online tutorials I can't seem to get a round going. I think maybe the wool is too thin, and I can't see the gaps properly, but it's infuriating! Any tips would be awesome, for the sake of my sanity...D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

Can I suggest an adjustable ring (it is sooo much easier)

What is it you are trying to/want to crochet? I got 100ds of amigurumi patterns and links if there is something in particular.
If you are using a lighter colour of yarn it is easier to see the gaps, black or dark brown I find is a real strain for your eyes. What size needle are you using? As a novice doing amigurumis I would suggest 3.5mm or 4mm. When it comes to yarn I prefer using DK rather than 4ply.
I'm no expert but I have been doing it for a while so if you got any other questions you can allways PM me0
