  • Sounds as though everyone had a lovely Christmas. We did also at our DDs'. We had a relaxing day and a beautiful Christmas dinner. Our daughter who did all the cooking was banned from the kitchen to relax in front of the tv afterwards. Younger daughter caught me in the kitchen putting food away and cleaning up. She said, that's my job, Ma! I told her she was also banned to the lounge, mum's perogative to clean up. :rotfl: They are such wonderful young women and I am so proud of them both. I truly enjoy having our blended family and all the children that are in it.

Today was just a day to sit and relax, chat and eat. Eldest DD heated up soup that was made for Christmas day and we had that with sandwiches. For tea we had a lovely cheese and onion pie and salad. We came home a bit after tea tonight.

Darling furbaby is sleeping on the sofa. After 2 full days of playing with her litter mate sister and her two fur cousins, she is exhausted. I can honestly say I miss the fur grandchildren tonight. In so many ways they're like lil human children. If their mum says no, they come running to me aka grammy. :rotfl: And when they get tired, they all climb up on me for a rest. Yes, I'm nuts. ;)

Hope those that braved the sales today found good bargains and survived unscathed. Hugs and get well wishes for those feeling poorly. And big hugs to all who want/need them.

    See you tomorrow.

:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: Hi everyone
So glad everybody sounds as if they had a great time yesterday and are chilling and relaaxing today.

We had a lovely day with immediate family but DD'S ex made a "surprise" very unwelcome visit and ended up in the police ststion for drink driving and used his 1 phone call to ring her !!!! I feel so sad he cant or wont move on and we have to suffer ..

Anyway all food was scrummy and had a good chill today
Congrats to all those celebrating and gentle thoughts to all those sad or alone
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Lovely time here too.

The big thing was my dad's sister had come across a letter from their father to their mother back in 1945. He was a doctor who got into self medication and gave his family a really tough life and died when my dad was about 21. So they have largely sad memories of him. But the letter was from a time when he was on top of things and clearly loved his kids. So it boosted my dad no end. He said it was like a whole new perspective on his father.

So we had a lovely dinner and this cool letter, and the DDs behaved impeccably. DD1(11) can be very moody but she managed to turn it all off for xmas and was so helpful all through. She loved helping and as a big gammon fan she got the gammon in coke going for us. DD2 (8) was a fab hostess and made sure everyone had what they needed
  • hi all, sounds like everyone had a great xmas! so glad. my first xmas dinner went really well. that was the best gift ever. all my boys sitting round the table munching away. lol. little one ate an insane amount. have hilarious videos of him licking his pudding bowl clean! :rotfl:think he really enjoyed it. unfortunately, i didn't get my bm or food processor. but sure i'll get them in the sales or something. main thing was all the boys got what they wanted. they were all thrilled with their prezzies. it was a lovely day all in all. and the best present ever was, my little sis had my baby nephew the day before xmas eve!!! he's beautiful. i'm all broody now. lol.
anyway, hope everyone's hols continue to be good. take care.

    Hi guys,

I am glad most of you seem to have had a really good xmas. :D :T :T

Ours was fairly uneventful. Eric's brother and wife called and also my sister and hubby and we had phonecalls from my bro and friends. Dinner went well although I have learned that my little oven can not cope with all 3 shelves filled with trays and the lesson was learned with today's lamb done in the SC overnight. Both meals were beautiful and I am proud that I did them well as Eric always did the xmas dinner.

Despite all of my plans to have the pressies down here under the tree the kids trashed the house yesterday and I finally finished cleaning it up at 9pm, unfortunately when cleaning the boys room I had to lift the large rug as there was lego everywhere and I found a large patch of urine that had soaked through to the carpet and evidence of a couple more dried patches. I sat on the bed and asked DS1 why and he just kept saying he was sorry. I just broke down and cried - the rug is now outside waiting to be binned and the carpet has been cleaned but I have had a nagging feeling for a while as when I tidy the room in the mornings a couple of times the window has been wide open as it was yesterday and the smell has been bad allthough I couldn't locate the source.

Hey ho! onwards and upwards - the leftover meat has been cubed and sliced and frozen and some of the lamb has been converted in to a curry for tomorrow with left over veggies. The bedding is all changed, washed and dried and ready to put away and the house is clean. I have done an internet shop for Monday and plan to clean the windows and nets over the weekend and also play some of the new games with the kids (again!!!).

Mioliere - great news about LO, I am so happy for you all. Johnny Depp - well we girls can dream can't we!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    YorkshireChick - have a fab day tomorrow!

Taplady, Taplord and Elons's DD - I hope you all feel a little better tomorrow.

    Pen-Pin - Thinking of you.

The gentlest of hugs to all in need and sorry for the long one!!!!!
