We don't know that. Was it actually nationalization that happened? We bought shares really, didn't we? This action wasn't so much party politics as a means to an end - looking after the depositers of the UK.
I think it's a tough call acting at the moment and only time will tell if actions are correct. We do not know that cameron and osbourne would be full of any cleverer ideas - they certainly don't sound as if they are.
What drives me against labour is their inability to do anything before or we it coming or put us in a stronger position to go into turbulance. That's what really gets to me.0 -
labour socialism is the cause of this mess. Spend spend spend and handouts to any lazy s*d with a big mouth. No wonder we are broke yet again in a labour government0

A Labour government is in power, the country is broke, under a masiive debt burden. Last time a Labour government had power, we were also broke under a massive debt burden.
They have redistributed the wealth alright, but not to the poor. They have given incentives to take a lifestyle of non-work, breeding council estates of people who don't work and will never work. All they have to do is have a child and put their feet up.
They have no chance of losing their home, no chance of losing their income, in fact another child will boost the income considerably.
Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming these people for taking it, I'm blaming the government for making it available.0 -

Would these tests apply to the chairman of RBS etc?Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

Pensions, NHS, minimum wage...
The banking system would have collapsed. Northern Rock was in fact nationalized, if it wasn't then faith in the banking system would have been shattered and many other banks would have fallen in its wake.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. So Socialism works and bails out the system when capitalism fails?Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

Ha, I'd say that was a fair assessment.
Unrestrained capitalism clearly doesn't work, the last year has made that pretty obvious. But Socialism on its own doesn't provide the freedoms and wealth that capitalism does...
In my own (possibly simplistic and naive) view, we need both.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

The freedom and wealth that capitalism provides very often leads to repossession.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.
