Good Morning,
Well done micron! I am about to start day 12, we are almost half way there.
Plan for today
[STRIKE]1. Tidy house [/STRIKE]
It didn't get done yesterday as I spent the time with DS as he enchanted me with tales of his adventures. I am really grateful to the instructor's and teachers for helping to create wonderful memories that will last him a lifetime.
[STRIKE]2. Meet up with my Friend [/STRIKE]
I'll pop out this morning to meet up with a friend for a catch up. I'll be back before DS and DH are up. They are out camping in the back garden again, they love it.
[STRIKE]3. Cycle Ride[/STRIKE]
I'll go out with DS on a bike ride
4. Blackberry download
5. Return equipment
[STRIKE] 6. TW and RB
7. Small weekly top up shop - use list[/STRIKE]
8. Prepare and send out three invoices - Tern/WL/IC
9. Update MS Log
[STRIKE]10. The Shred[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]12. Chocolates for school and card and present for friend who has had miscarriage.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]13. Card/money for mum[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]14. Pinecone survey[/STRIKE]
Have a wonderful weekend.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Well done Scrooge for being up and motivated. I was rudely dragged from my slumber at 6:30 by the kids, and although i have been doing stuff, it is very blearily.
So far i have:- sorted milk for the kids
- changed a nappy
- fed the cat
- got the WM on
- bagged a MS job for next weekend
- managed to get another dose of antibiotics down DS2s neck
- stopped the kids waking up DH who was working late last night.
- checked ebay to see if anyone else had paid from last nights sales
Soup recipe i was asked for:
i mainly make a carrot and red lentil one as the kids only like orange soup.
I heat up a TBSP of olive oil and fry a chopped onion, and a couple of cloves of garlic. I add some chopped carrots (about 6 carrots), and then put in enough water to cover it plus about an inch. I then add about 100g of red lentils which i rinse 1st. It takes about 20 minutes to simmer till cooked.
This last time i added in some country soup mix but i cooked it separately from the soup as i know the kids don't like it. I followed the instructions on the pack for that.
It's a popular one here. When i was working i used to do butternut squash and red lentil soup, but this is the poor mans equivalent and a staple of our winter diet. Me and the kids have it a couple of times a week when i make it as it is quite a large batch.0 -
Morning all,
I'm about to tackle 'The Shred' again, but i'm creaking a bit today (a combination of the cycle ride and sleeping in the tent last night), so I hope it's not too painful.
Your soup recipe sounds easy and healthy cha97michelle, thanks. I'll make a batch today.
Plan for today:-
Still outstanding from the week:-

Return equipment
[STRIKE] Prepare and send out three invoices - Tern/WL/IC

A lazy day here, DH will likely be watching the football, so I may go for another cycle ride with DS who's not a big football fan, but loves the outdoors.
I want to complete this week's to do's, so don't let me make any excuses for not finishing all the above.
I had a few hours sleep this afternoon, so a couple of things left to do, which I will do tomorrow.

Morning all,
Monday already!
I'm starting Zumba classes at the gym tonight, it's apparently a new Brazillian dance workout, so it should be fun. I'm going to unleash my inner Latina.
I can't decide what to wear though.....
Have a great day.

Sorry i disappeared for a little while. I had a bit of a tough weekend as DH was working most of it for overtime money, and i was so tired and worried about getting everything done. We sort of got there although i did end up having to cancel my mystery shopping job as we just had no spare time for it.
Today has been equally manic:- new parents meeting at DS1's nursery, and form filling, looking at uniform etc...
- went to bank to pay in DHs wages in cash from the weekend before it burnt a hole in anyones pocket
- came home - packed up nappy bag
- took both kids to Drs surgery for DS2s 2 year old assessment with health visitor
- took the boys for lunch in the morrisons cafe
- got some shopping including fathers day cards
- went to post office to send 3 ebay parcels
- came home, entertained kids for the afternoon even though i was so shattered.
- bathed kids - stripped off my bedding and got in the wash, also emptied the contents of the airing cupboard ready for its demolition
- wrapped 4 ebay parcels and 2 amazon sales
- planned a visit from my friend from uni on Saturday.
- cooked dinner
Thanks to this thread, i listed my old teaching books on amazon which i have meant to do in ages, and i have sold 2 today. So thanks for the inspiration.
I think i might try and make a list for tomorrow and try to get myself in order a bit. I know i need another trip to the post office, maybe return our library books, and hoover the living room as the boys have wrecked it again with food.
How was the soup Scrooge? I really like it but DH finds it really bland. It is definitely in the cheap and healthy category.0 -
Hi all,
Sincere apologies as I have not been around much over the last few days. Life has been somewhat busy at work and at home. I was hoping to catch up on the posts over the weekend but never got round to it. Hopefully I can do this over the next few days.
Scrooge, how are you getting on with the Shred? I see you are still busy at it. I have managed to complete all my days apart from Day 13 (opps sorry!). Was out of the house early and didn't get back until late on Sunday night. Do you think I could manage doing two days session in one day in order to catch up? Or would that finish me off? It's difficult enough completing one session but I know I have to catch up so on Thursday I will aim to do my catch up one first thing the morning.
How was your Zumba class? I'm impressed with your healthy lifestyle and your menu plan for the week is so organised (and impressive). Definitely time I took a leaf out of your book. Any tips gratefully received. I am going to spend Tuesday organising myself and putting a list together of things I need to get done. That way once I have posted it on here I'll have to start getting my act together and start crossing things of my ever increasing list!
Cha97michelle, hope you have recovered from your tiring weekend. Just like scrooge you get lots done also. You both put me to shame.
Hi wilf55, how are you getting on with your plans for the week?
Hope to catch up with everyone soon (and list my plans for the rest of the week!).Save £12k in 2017 #14

Morning Micron,
Of course you'll be able to catch up on Thursday. You are an athlete . It sounds like you have a very busy life, so it's no wonder you've got a long to do list.
The Zumba class was brilliant fun, the instructor was excellent. It is a new class and there were over 100 people there, which was amazing, as there are usually about 10 people at the regular classes. There was a real party atmosphere, but boy was she relentless.
Technically, I shouldn't be able to walk today, but I'm up to do Day 15 of the Shred.
Cha97michelle, your soup was lovely, though I added a stock cube as I prefer a bit of salt in my soup. Your recipe is the healthy way to go though. I may re-visit my salt intake.
Plan for today

Bye for nowI learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Morning.
scrooge you were up so early. Glad you liked the soup. I normally add salt at the table so the kids can eat stuff. I am trying to be good though as i was told my blood pressure was a bit high. Try adding a spoon of marmite if you want more flavour when cooking lentils. A tip a veggie friend shared with me.
micron well done to you too about keeping up with the shred. Admirable plan to do 2 in one day but will it not wipe you out completely?
The kids were up a bit later today (7 not 6) so i have caught up a little.
A friend from uni asked if she could visit at the weekend. A little motivation for me to get the house a bit more sorted. I am getting there with my 15 minutes at a time though.0
