Its been a busy week to now, listing on ebay (now up to 40 for June), wrapping ebay and amazon sales, and playing free bingo every evening in the hope of a win. Also, trying to sort clothes for going away.
Exercise has gone to pot as my hayfever is playing up and i feel really poo. I did gut the kids playroom yesterday, but they have been up there playing in there and their bedroom today so i feel a bit like it was wasted effort in that it will all need putting back again.
Oh well.
Only the rest of the house to fully sort, and the other half of the packing to complete ready for going away at the end of next week. My motivation is really low at the moment. With the scale of the task it doesn't surprise me.
Wilf i totally know where you are coming from with the way you are working. I feel like i mostly react rather than plan what i will do. My day is peppered with interuptions. Just now, Mum - i've weed on my clothes (DS1 aged 3) or going to cook dinner and discovering while i was dealing with that DS2 (aged 2) has helpfully overfilled the WM drawer with half a bottle of fabric conditioner which is all over the floor, all over the front of the cooker and in the drawer under it. I may have to wait for them to go to school to get closer to the perfect home i dream of. Kids eh.0 -
Sorry to hear about your hayfever cha97michelle, there is so much pollen about at the moment, no wonder you are feeling poo.
Despite your low motivation, I am sure you will rise to the challenge and get what needs to be done for you to enjoy your well deserved break.
How about a bit of brainstorming. Scribble it all down on a piece of paper, then do a few things off the list each day in order of importance. If you can delegate any of the things on the list, even better, three gold stars for that :rotfl:.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. Thinking i might start making a to do list here so that i know where my ideas are. I can always add to it as i go along. I feel a bit easier tonight but my nose is still so itchy. All the bad weather followed by sunshine is lethal. One of my mystery shops at the weekend requires me to purchase a treatment for it, so hopefully that will work better than my current one. I thought i had escaped it a little this year but no such luck.
Right:
DIY:
every room needs access to the radiators for thermostatic valves to be fitted
purchase a new bathroom door
purchase radiator from BILs friend - Fri night
purchase a loft ladder and hatch to meet building regulations for boiler going in the loft
paint radiator for the playroom and put back on the wall
Cleaning:- Playroom - keep tidy, clean window and sill
- kids room - major tidy/declutter, hoover and dust, move furniture for access to radiator
- our room - tidy, declutter, hoover and dust
- bathroom - complete empty cabinet and other toiletries, take all tiles and tongue and groove off the walls, remove loo roll holder and towel rail, rip out airing cupboard, take all rubbish to tip

- living room/dining room - clear away all toys, wash windows and [STRIKE]patio doors[/STRIKE], clean floor, get rid of ironing pile, hide ebay mountain in garage
- kitchen - empty pantry for access to gas meter while they are working, clean fridge and make sure we leave unopened milk and tea/coffee visible. clear both benches off and make sure it is all clean, [STRIKE]clean sink/draining board[/STRIKE]. [STRIKE]Clean window and back door.[/STRIKE][STRIKE]clean cutlery drawer[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]clean under cooker drawer[/STRIKE], clean microwave, empty off and clean 2 shelves
meet friends on Saturday, have meal at our house
take kids to see the wiggles at Sheffield City Hall Wed 23rd
Earn money:- have ebay auctions ending on Fri/Sat/Sun and Tue - make sure all purchased items are packaged so at the worst we can take with us to post while away
- unlist amazon stuff for while we are away
- take a holiday on readitswapit
- Mystery shopping - print out paperwork for 2 jobs on Sunday, do jobs, write reports. Try to get some for while we are away.
- sort out boxes of baby stuff to go to BIL and girlf, and DHs best friend.
- check what stuff i need to buy
- check what needs washing and ironing and do it
- finish packing
- remember to take something for fathers day and SILs present for her birthday - wrap presents.
- take cats to cattery for their hols - sort food, vaccination certificates, and spend some time grooming fat cat before he goes.

 Are you sure that is not your list for the whole of June
You definately need a plan. Have you anyone who could look after the boys for a day or so, so that you could get stuck in without distractions. Perhaps another mum who could give you one day's childcare and then you could look after her kids in return, at a later date?
I used to do a lot of this kind of bartering with other mums when my DS was small.
Also are there any of those jobs that could be allocated to DH.
There are about 32 items on your list, if you break it down further, with 8 days to go, all of which are in addition to your normal jobs running the family. So you need to be averaging 4 crossing outs a day to be on the safe side. You see it is fun :rotfl:.
P.S Talk of The Wiggles gave me the giggles. I am sure the kids will have an amazing time.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

Morning,
It's true that the worse jobs do get left until last, but because I keep seeing them on the list day after day, they do get tackled and the feeling of getting those jobs crossed off is the best of all.
Also, they are never as bad as I think they will be, so I end up wondering why it took me so long to do the job.
The most organised way of doing it would be worse jobs first (jobs I am most likely to procrastinate on), at a time of day when I have the most energy. I might try that. Thanks Wilf.
For the next week worse job 1 and 2 (or the jobs I am most likely to procrastinate on) will be highlighted in purple and will need to be done as early in the day as possible.
Outstanding To Do List - Items up to number 13 have to be done today.

Well it is the 18th of June today.
List is to the 25th/26th of June when we go away, and yes there is a lot, yes, DH will be helping me and a lot will get done this weekend.
I have arranged for one of my sisters to come and help me on Monday morning as her DS is at nursery and packed lunch club so i should get 3 hours help there. She is only 24 and has a lot of energy, so we should get a lot done together. No friends to do child swaps with. All my friends with kids are teachers from work, so i don't think any would want mine for a weekend day. I'll get there. Just keep plodding and hope the kids don't too badly trash the bits that i manage to get done.0
