Tesco were a complete waste of time with hardly any reductions even right up to closing time. The only food they reduced was that dated up to 24th and there were loads of items with a sell by date of 23rd still for sale:mad:
What really annoyed me was the way that all of the bread off the shelves(and there was loads) was just being thrown into huge sacks to be binned. At the same time (just before closing) a member of staff was bringing out trolleys of warm freshly baked bread and walking around the store with it. Obviously some sort of marketing ploy to entice customers to buy more using the aroma of freshly baked bread:rolleyes:0 -
We did really well at our Tesco,
6 lrg pizza £2.60 each,we paid 16p each.
4 packs of sandwiches £1.60 down to 5p each.
2kgs of beef steak mince for £2.59.
4 bags of cauliflower reduced to 5p a bag.
400grm of sliced ham for 59p.
3 packs of sliced turkey were £2.99 each for 30p each.

around lunch time at Lime street station
Liverpool. The M&S store in the station
had nearly everything reduced,even the
tins of biscuits and the bread.big reductions too
example the extremely chocolate swiss rolls were
50p each.I only went in for a sandwich got lots of
stuff and ended up costing just over a fiver.
the big M&S in town did not have anything reduced
in the food hall when I called in there later.:j:j:j0 -

i went at 5.30, and the store closed at 6pm.

Ours was same, 25p for bunch bananas, 50p sprouts , did see a cooked turkey down from £50 to £25!!! everyone was walking past it.Usually Asda is good for knock down stuff xmas eve , but not this year.:mad:0 -
I thought reductions were pretty poor as well this year around here. Only got a couple of things, another turkey crown for the freezer from Waitrose, reduced from £26 to £9 and some salmon down to £2.50.
I used to love xmas eve food bargains, you used to be able to get loads of things for under a £1, not this year.0 -
Tescos on Old Kent Road had few reductions- but then I did shop at 6.30pm and not 8.30pm.
Ques were mad, havoc! but not as bad as Waitrose in Canary Wharf where I almost shopped earlier on (the ques were too bad for me to do that to myself!).
Got a 400g fruit salad, sell by date today for £1 insted of £2. Normally they go down alot more, to like 89p or something. Many other fruit salads were pbviously dead,- very puffy with a whiteish tint to the juice on them, reduced to 35p for 400g plain melon, and 95p for 200grams- the latter had a sell by date of 26th. Both looked off. They had loads of these!
Got a sharon fruit, 25p insted of 35p. Not such a great deal but the last one left.
Loads of chocolates and etc left, nothing reduced. Infact, I could not find anything that had sold out besides fruit and veg- they even had milk in!0 -
We stupidly left our christmas food shopping till today, we weren't really fussed what we had but Sainsburys had nothing apart from some reduced fish and lamb. In despair I went to M&S and was very pleased to get a half price free range (massive!) chicken, half price rack of pork and a half price turkey roast thing so that's new years and christmas sorted! Also used the £5 voucher which was good. Also got some lean steak mince from Tesco for 87p a pack which was good but have to agree there weren't any stupidly great reductions about...well done for all those who got some! Merry Christmas xxx[STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]
CC2: £390 / £1475.98
Boiler: £1500 / £2500

Emergency Fund : £200 -
