Just nabbed a 7kg free range turkey from the local co-op - reduced from £37 to £5 :D It's now chopped up into manageable, meal-size bits and in the freezer!

I went to Tesco and Sainburys and there were not even Turkeys at full price let alone reduced - did anyone else find a lack of stock.
A few 1/2 price reductions on chicken brests, chops, but shelves were practically empty in Tesco.

Tesco was crap! :( I went at around 4, to be fair, but there wasn't a lot reduced, just some chicken breasts which would have bee n more expensive that turkey breasts which is what I normally get, so I couldn't really be bothered to get any lol. And some random muesli yoghurt too :S

Two parsnips. Asda said they were free but I've checked my receipt and they charged me 40p! So now I'll have to go back when they're open for a refund (then they will be free!).
    Torgwen.......... :) ...........

I agree with you BC tesco was quite rubbish, but sainsburys was not much better. I heard loads of people asking for Turkeys and they were told they were all sold out from midday even though Tesco is open till 9pm.
I found the food quite boring - they used to do nice little nibbles/starters but this year was very disappointing, wish I made the effort to go to M&S.

Forgot to say somerfield was good for the odd bits - sliced bread, pizza, trifle all 75% off.
  • Tesco's were seling turkeys off in Warwick 1/2 price...plus M&S in Leamington Spa not much left but all discounted.
  • Tesco near me had £2 off some large cakes (not Xmas ones) and some cottage cheese and chicken breasts reduced; that was it!! I got some fillet steak reduced the other day so I am defrosting that for lunch tomorrow. :0)
  • i went to co=op and had to buy 2 mags for a total of £2 so my very good bargains were not obv.

so this lot including mags for £3.89

lean steak mince 500g - 75p (were 2 for £5 so shame only one pack left as could have saved another £1)

    meatballs pack 12 - 59p (2 packets for £4 so save 98p) i brought 2 so was 18p

rump steak reduced from £2.99 to 99p got 2 of those

beef stir fry strips - £3.99 to 85p (2 packets for £6 so saved £1.98 so basically they paid me to have them!!)

i did only buy one or two of each item as didnt want to be greedy and other people were looking as well so thought i would share!!
  • At my local mid sized Tesco bread and cakes down to a third or a quarter price and some items like sweet & sour chicken but I thought at 4pm there would be loads of great buys as they closed at 6pm.
Oh well there's always next year.
