Hi Sis OBNW - I have the 'can friends come for tea coz they love lasagne, toad, cottage pie, roast dinner ....... in fact any meal that I am making' thing all the time. We sit up to the table for our meals at night and my daughters friends appear not to at their houses. They love the whole 'set the table, all eat together, have pudding and then sit and chat' ritual we have. It's nice that they like to join in on our seemingly 'old fashioned' way of parenting. She has 3 best friends and I seem to have adopted them all somehow.
I have been managig some NSD's but not as many as I'd like. There is always something small that gets in the way. I will also try for 3 this week. I have just got in from doing a weekly shop and spent £97 on what doesn't seem like very much. I have pledged that I am making this last until the end of the month and should easily do it if I utilise my storecupboard and freezer properly. I am doing an inventory this afternoon and will plan our meals til the end of the month ..... watch this space!
Just managed to get a load of washing on the line. It's bright and blowy here after a torrential storm last night. Have just made OH cook beefburgers outside on the camping stove - I hate the smell of them in the house!! Then really should get some ironing done - ho hum.
In terms of the waiting til pay day thing I seem to update my spreadsheets daily. I enter the accurate min payments on our cc's as the bills come in and check my online banking and update the sheet with what's come out. It the month go by quite quickly. I do like fiddling with the figures and have set up the account sheet to show me how much I'll have left in the bank at the end of the month once every direct debit has been taken. I see that as my debt overpayment money so like to try and keep it as high as I can - another incentive for more NSD's!!
Enjoy the rest of your day.

hope you don't mind me posting here, been lurking for the last few days and picking up inspiration and tips! OBNW, if you want a cash tin most of the pound shops near us sell them - huge ones too, basic and a bit ugly looking but they do the job (ie you can't break them open lol)! OH and I got each other one each for Christmas (romance isn't dead!) and we're competing to 1) see who fills their's up first and 2) see who saves the most in it.0

ONBW (always think of star wars obionekonobe when I see that !)
Glad you're feeling groovy (whats that song ?) congrats on the DFD date, and the direct debit cancellations, all helps.
No pedometers hanging around our charity shops, perhaps some neutral shopping in order.
Just been wading through piles of paperwork in the depths of draws and cupboards, in an effort to get my tax assessment in order and rubbish I have, really need to get ebaying again.DC.

I just got all excited then and thought today would be my first no spend day this year:o .....then I remembered I put petrol in the car this morning
Definitely tomorrow though  it was going to be yesterday but I had some M&S vouchers for Crimbo and popped into town, found a lovely per una dress that will go beatifully with my brown boots...size 14 and it fitted great (I'm 5'10") the dress was £3 more than my vouchers
Tomorrow I can update my snowball woo hoo :dance:LBM- finally kicked in 16/12/08 @ [strike]£41,862 [/strike] £0.00/ DFD- 24/12/13

I actually exceeded my own expectations!!! They were lovely - even my OH said so!!! Quite light and fluffy - even I liked them (not a fan of dumplings or most things pastry-like).

Hi OBNW
Glad to see it's going OK. i'm very much like you with the NSD - much harder in practice than in theory! It's been helpful though as the failure to get NSDs is quite educational because at least I'm seeing where it's all going pear shaped so now I can address it.
Have seen a few references to spreadsheets and snowballs on this thread. Is there somewhere on this site with spreadsheets all set up or are they DIY? Would like to escape grappling with Excel from scratch if possible.
We're not really in the doo-doo but I'm trying to address things before interest rates, petrol, food goes up again.
Hoping for a NSD today!0
