If you build an unauthorised extension on your house and the council notice, selling the house doesn't stop the council taking enforcement action.
Indeed, If you built any substantial extension without the correct permissions, especially one already at the centre of recent inspection and ongoing enforcement action , no one is suddenly absolved of obeying the law just because the property has changed ownership.
Cue the usual "joker" saying "he has won.....etc etc... it will be there in 20 years time etc etc."0 -
It will only take a min to check land registry, all the details should also be on hUKhouseprices.com including sale price, if I knew the postcode I would have a look ( can anybody see it?)and who in their right mind would buy the darned castle?
He prob just transferred ownership to one of his many kids or other relatives, I dont see how it will do any good.Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -
It is still there whats the latest?
Reminds me of Greece. Deadlines come and go, the day of reckoning is always postponed.
I wonder which will happen first, Greece official default (or default one way or another) or Mr Fidler finally loses his battle and the castle comes down?
Or maybe neither of them will happen.
I think neither of them will happen, there will always be something else to delay it, for years and years.The thing about chaos is, it's fair.0 -

I think the most recent news I can see on this is that on 1st July the local council planning meeting resolved to do the following:
Commence proceedings for contempt of court:(1) that the Function Manager for Legal Services be authorised, on behalf of the Council, to commence and pursue committal proceedings for contempt of court against all persons considered to be in breach of the injunction order dated 13 June 2014;
Get authorisation to enter the land and knock it down (I doubt they will publicise a date for this, so they have an element of surprise!) :(2) that the Function Manager for Development Management be authorised, on behalf of the Council, to commence and pursue under section 178 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 the entering onto the land at Honeycrock Farm, Axes Lane, Salfords, and the taking of the steps required by the enforcement notices listed in Schedule C to the Injunction Order dated 13 June 2014, to secure permanent compliance with the requirements of those notices, and to recover from the person who is then the owner of the land any expenses reasonably incurred by the Council in doing so;
