I know russia gets a bad press and all that. And there are laws which govern where and what can be built.
But you know what - most people have a place in the country to relax, its nice and peaceful and not ridiculously expensive, even by local standards.
Yes there's much more land etc to build on. But the Govt took a back seat, said we want people to have this, so here's the chance.
My grandparents built their own house, grandads own two hands (though not solely his own two hands!)
Cousin is now doing the same with her husband.0 -
It is still there whats the latest?
Reminds me of Greece. Deadlines come and go, the day of reckoning is always postponed.
I wonder which will happen first, Greece official default (or default one way or another) or Mr Fidler finally loses his battle and the castle comes down?
Or maybe neither of them will happen. The thing about chaos is, it's fair.0 -
Looks like Mr Fidler came up with another dastardly plan.... sell the house to someone else!

As far as I know the demolition order is still valid and the council can still turn up to do it themselves and then send him the bill.
Could be quite amusing.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

Yet another ill conceived attempt to avoid playing by the rules, some people only learn the hard way.
If he spent as much time, energy and money doing things properly, instead of attempting to play the system, he'd most probably have himself a lovely home completely safe from the threat of being destroyed0
