Just checked the price promise out and it seems to specify only certain retailers - Argos Comet PCWorld John Lewis B&Q Jessops Tesco Asda
Has anyone got experience of them accepting Richer price match?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they insist that Richer Sounds have it on display and not just stock it in boxes.

Should I get this Sony or the Samsung 32" that is on at a similar price at Dixons/Currys?
You link didn't work for me. Do you mean the Samsung LE32A456C (LE32A457C1DXXU)?

Best price is at Dixons - on sale at £299 but there's a code for 2.5% off and free delievery, plus cashback from Quidco.

Just to note according to the spec sheet quoted by Roger_Rampant this is a 768P TV. It can receive 1080i and process it to 768p, but it is a 768p TV.

I bought the Sony KDL32V4000 in November when they were on offer from Richer Sounds and it is an excellent TV.

If you want the additional 5 year guarantee it pays to buy from RS as they charge 10% (£29.95) of purchase price for it. I'm sure it is £4.99/ month at Dixons/Currrys

Used to work for Waitrose (part of JL). As I understood they would pricepromise any retailer with bricks and mortar, so Empire Direct, Richer Sounds should be matched. But not internet retailers

  • Got mine this morning at Richers Newcastle Store.

Got there at 9.50am when the queue had about 20 people in it, and was in and out within 20 minutes. Not sure what their stock levels were like, but not many were buying the 32" Sony sets (at the time) with many going for the 40" Sony @ £499.

Just set it up, and it looks great.
  • OH bought one of the 32" Sonys this morning at Prestwich store.
He was there queuing up about 9.40am and about the 14th through the door and by the time he bought it and according to SA there were only 3 or 4 left.

As far as price match at Currys they will only do it if they are in stock at a store within 10 miles radius so if the stores near me are anything to go by, they won't have any left= no price match :(
  • Will go look at the Prestwich one now Chattykat and have a look see :)
