M&S Sale

well done wolvesfan18 for sticking up for M&S. Some people on these boards are never happy and want items for £1!
People should be grateful that M&S have such a generous returns policy- what other stores accept returns up to 90 days?0 -

If M&S consider the posts from Wolves is 'sticking up' for them then their CS has plummeted further than I thought!
Wolves, just remember when you slag off M&S customers and laugh behind their backs, that they may annoy you by appreciating a bargain ( why do you think M&S reduce things in the first place? ), but many of them spend regularly in the store, maybe more than you realise. After all, someone pays your wages, did you think it was Stuart Rose?:rolleyes:0 -
I think Wolves works for NEXT or GAP and this is the Guerilla marketing. Makes sense. Come onto the board. Act like a petulant child and say you work for M&S to try to peeve people off.
It's made me want to go there tomorrow and take some things off of hangers.

Just got M&S shareholder vouchers through, 4 for 10% discount to be used 23-26 Jan plus some fixed value coupons or use on food, clothes etc.0

Why should people be grateful?? The returns policy is actually a reigned in version of a more generous policy that existed in the past. It's also savvy marketing on M&S's behalf to have good returns policy - it's part of their brand and nothing to do with generosity for the customer. Shouldn't the overriding question be why doesn't M&S have a standard 30 or 14 day return policy....the answer is: it would cripple them.
After reading this thread, I'm convinced a few M&S employees actually believe all the corporate guff that's fed to them in briefings (or as someone else mentioned there is some underhand guerilla marketing going on).
Having to wait while a shop assistant hangs up and re-prices returned clothes is just another example, albeit fairly trivial, of why M&S has gone down the pan over the past 5 years.0 -
PS some sale still available in Liverpool City Centre branch; a good amount of lingerie and some other clothing. Not much decent clothing left but some nice Per Una accessories.0

Yesterday I waited in a massive queue whilst assistants were not only diligently hanging up returns, but were also returning them to their space on the shop floor!
I'm old enough to remember when M&S had no clothes rails, but sold their clothing in cellophane packs on the counters. (just like Woolies sold their products - in their hey-day:D). The customer was king and you felt happy to buy anything and everything you could from M&S.
Their returns policy is fair, however, some assistants have taken their briefings to heart and examine returned goods in the same way a nit-nurse examines hair!0 -
Went in to M&S in Colchester yesterday. In the mens dept. there was only one rail of sale goods left. However, picked up a nice shirt reduced from £28 to £3 :j (£2.94 paid err thanks for the 6p Mr. Brown:rolleyes: ). One cashier took the money whilst another folded and bagged the item for me. Both were very polite. Waited for a back comment. However, none was forthcoming which was a shame coz I was up for a row

Can anyone confirm, if I buy some sale stuff online can I still return it? I may nip into the store and ask in person actually....0
