M&S Sale

here i have to jump in again to defend us as staff (i work there)
you lot are vultures sometimes, i mean seriously, we all want a bargain but some m&s customers are a joke, no wonder we cheek you when you walk away.
and as for the person moaning at the customer service desk people.
1) it is NOT vital you all rush back immediately to return unwanted gifts, we offer 90 day returns on everything yet you insist on coming ASAP and wait in ques. your own fault, stop moaning.
2) we are told to hang things as they are returned, if that takes 20secs longer boo hoo. we dont want things piling up as there will no time to do them after either, causing a mess and back log of things to hang - if there are part sets, they can get lost.
3) if you are returning things now and you paid full price, expect them to have gone down in sale. and for the example above ^ most items dont get to staff shop, its just we dont want to sell it back to you. imagine if we did, we would have people returning £90 coats at the latest possible time knowing theyve gone down to a fiver. you really think any business will let you come back for a refund and then buy it back, pocketing the cash? get real
4) if you dont like m&s, on your bike, we only mock you when your not there and laugh at you.
5) not 1 person is worried about jobs at m&s. FACT. why? becuase we get internal briefing which actually states that only food is badly down on last year, the biggest sale margin down on last year is mens clothes - 2.3%, not a biggie. kids is up 7.3% etc etc so stuart rose took the decision to cut the simply food stores - one that sell only foods to balance things. m&s is not going under.
6) in relation to number 5 people, please STOP ringing up saying when is our closing down sale :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and stop thinking your making a funny joke when you say things like "im doing my bit to save m&s" when you spend £2. its not funny and we dont actually care.0 -

Wolves, be careful with your cavalier attitude. Just because you've been briefed that things are 'all well', doesn't in fact mean they are...internal briefings will always give a positive spin to prevent the rats leaving the ship. Sure, only some food stores are shutting now, but don't think that will be the end of the cull to put M&S back in a healthy position(particularly if a takeover is back on the cards). Also bear in mind, you won't be getting a pay rise this year.0 -
Came here to see what bargains people were getting as I haven't been able to get instore and I love reading about how lucky some people are (and I have been in the past!)
I can empathise with Babybimbles as it is frustrating to think the prices can come down so dramatically and also we have all been in a busy queue with screaming child/baby/husband (!!!) but I didn't feel you were being disrespectful or rude/personal unlike wolvesfan18's! I can see why he/she feels they need to respond but I was disappointed to read those comments.0 -
Gosh, that queue after Christmas and some of the stuff being returned is a joke. Some of the customers returning goods argue with the staff demanding cash refunds which they do not have the receipt etc., I have seen this many times. WELL DONE to all you Customer Services. At the end of the day we do not have legal rights to a refund. M & S just have a super Customer Service Policy. Imagine if M & S stopped refunding just because you have changed your mind........RIOTS in the local High Street!SallyD0

Oh my goodness, I was only sharing a laugh. I wasn't expecting them to let me buy the coats and I do take offence to people calling my family pathetic!
If staff have access to a fantastic sale shop then that's great for them and if they can have a good laugh about customers that's fine with me. I didn't like having to wait whilst underwear was being hung on hangers but hey that's just my opinion and I'm entitled to one. I thought M&S was on par with the likes of Next who certainly don't have queues like M&S as they don't insist on hanging every item whilst the customers are waiting but once again that's up to them!! But hey that's just my opinion.0 -

Do you speak on behalf of M&S? Would you mind if I copied your message to M&S Head Office? So this is the customer service they are so well known about? I am a paying customer, and you know the saying 'the customer is always right'.... and if it wasn't for paying customers, you would be seeing M&S heading the same way as Woolworths. I wouldn't laugh too much if I were you.0 -

only turns up at sale times. therefore dont try and take the high ground here because you wont be missed xx
I've worked at the sister Company in South Africa, Woolworths (no relation to UK one), and never met anyone there with this kind of attitude. I considered reporting this post to Abuse, but am just too lazy. I read your other post, too.
Just horrible.

So sad to be so unhappy in your work, yet still thinking about it when off duty. Personally, my work is the last thing I think about of a saturday evening.
Please remember that you dont know the people on here, they are not the customers who have peeved you so deeply (evidently) so maintain your manners please.1373/100000 -
