Yes...but does this just allow SIMs from other networks to be used or does it actually allow the handset to be locked down to a 2G signal actually making it useable on e.g. Orange (and probably soon to be an issue other networks as they roll out their 3G offerings and turn on authentication thus barring 2G SIMs from accessing them)?

but if you want to use a '3' contract sim in it, all shoudl be okay I'm assuming?

Not sure about the CPW website but in their monthly magazine it specifically says that the top up must be bought with the phone. it is a package and already in the box. These phones were in Argos, Curry's and Woolworths also for the same price although most have now sold out.

So thanks to Dash, the software for unlocking can be bought £250 plus p&p and yes, after it is unlocked it can be used with any sim. All for £25 while you wait. I'll let you know if I have ant problems tomorrow.
