Mostly I've made jewellery this year and gave a few things as presents. The thing I'm having trouble with is making Christmas cards for my family. I've got until tomorrow at 3pm to come up with 6 cards for kids and 5 cards for adults. I'm just about to go sit down and start making them, so hopefully inspiration will strike.
I made some very simple xmas cards last weekend -
* cut a square/rectangle (to suit card shape) of red paper & glue onto card
* cut a xmas tree shape from green felt (I traced round a tree ornament)
* stick felt tree to red paper (I used padded double-sided tape to make it stand out)
* attach some small star stickers/sequins (optional - I didn't bother)
They had a nice, simple charm to themsome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
I'm just finishing the second sleeve on a jumper. I also made a sock monkey at the weekend for a gift. Next up - another jumper!0

Just had an idea...My DB's MIL was admiring a birthday card I had made for my mum. it came to me that she might like a box of assorted cards for next Christmas. She's artistic herself, enjoying painting, so appreciates something that someone else has made. This is something that I can get started with when I have a chance and I can look out for a suitable box to cover."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. I received a pack of assorted handcrafted cards from a fellow mse'r for xmas and it is one of the pressies I have been most chuffed with:j not only because of the time she put into making them but because it is one craft I don't do so can apprecite it more:D0 -
I find crafting easier at Christmas because there's more of a theme.
This year I made my cards, microwave rice warmers and a set of placemats, as well as a fabric scarf for my friend's Birthday. Need to start on Valentines next...0 -
I tend to craft thoughout the year, with the theme being Christmas (or at least winter) as it's easier due to using wool. I cross-stitch, and am in the middle of doing a large project of some angels that will take at least another year for me to finish
However, I've just finished knitting a couple of scarves for Christmas presents, and I'd like to break the scarf-habit for 2009 and try to give friends some nice knitted Christmas presents that aren't neck-related.
During 2009 I'd like to save all my scraps of fabric and make a quilt (need to brush up on the how-to) and continue with my knitting - different things, naturally! I want to try and set up a little scheme among my friends where we each craft really nice and spectacular baubles and exchange new ones at Christmas Time so we've almost got heirloom (or at least incredibly memorable) decorations on our trees.Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
microwave rice warmers? Are they like wheat bags?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
