    Hi All,

Got more or less the same problem with a Megane II 2006.
The noice increases with the speed and when I turn left.
Really hate the car at 45 miles.
I will try and shift the bearing tonight see if it helps.
Not to sharp in english i'm from DK.

Don't bother if it increases with speed it can only be a constant velocity joint most likely, or a wheel bearing but the wheel bearing would need to have pitted or tracked for that to be heard as a knock. IE, no adjustment just replacement.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.
Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

Well done, it does take a bit of doing without a press but provided you are carefull with the new bearing it's more than do-able. £75 saved at a guess, and all the advice for free;);)

  • I had the same the same kind of knocking and the mechanic said it was a clip missing that was holding the brake pipe in place, and because the brake pipe was loose it was rubbing against the wheel when turning thus making the noise. He did also advise me the 2 CV joints were both in need of a repair too though.

    Hi Newbie.

It's a better idea to open a new thread rather than rake up an old 1, gets messy as everyone who's watched the thread 7 months ago gets a reminder ;);)
