Anyone know if there is likely to be any calendars left at any of the stores today? My local one closes today (unless it has already closed on the original closing day) as I haven't got one for 2009 yet.0

Does anyone know if there are any stores in East London ish area to central London due to close today? Thanks0

No it isn't. I had less than half of the 60 or 70 still on the shelves.
It was 16:50 and the store was pulling down the shutters at 17:00.
Workmen were amongst the customers removing shelves as they became empty - Staff were constantly consolidating shelves.
Anything not through the till by 17:00 was going in a skip.
There were probably 20 shoppers in the store at the time and I came out with just these which I "carefully selected".
Everyone else was grabbing armfuls of anything and everything left on the shelves and filling at least a couple of baskets each.
Most of them had dozens of copies of Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah (there were hundreds of them)
If anything I was the ONLY one there that wasn't part of the frenzy !
What a sickening and boastful post  People can always justify bad behaviour.0 -

Don't think its sickening, boastful or bad behaviour, just a person picking up some bargains in a shop about to close down.
Opps accidently thanked you Jane when I was trying to quote you - don't thank neg posts.now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it0 -

I agree! i was going to ask if i had missed something!!!
Also, can i just say a huge thank you to the woolworths staff and good luck with the future. My thoughts are with you that it happened at such a bad time (xmas)Money makes the world go mad, the world go mad, the world go mad! :wall:0 -
I also wanted to wish woolies staff, especeially the full time members who rely on a full wage good luck with the job hunting, its a very tough market out there.
I'm assuming that most of the staff are part timers though as they say 30,000 staff in 800 stores - which is 37.5 staff per store - and some stores were tiny!0 -

I think fair play to whoever got what, but I am wondering how Wollies would have got a load of CD's of Alexandra Burke, Woolies went into administration on 26th November and the single wasnt released until 17th December ??, V Strange.0 -
Does anyone know if there are any Woolies' left open in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, North London, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire areas or close by? Or does anyone know of any lists online of the remaining open branches?0

Probably nowhere near you, but the Kings Heath store has loads of 'My Chemical Romance' calendars left, no other calendars!... looks like they just can't shift them :rotfl:0
