Woo hoo pay day has arrived :j
Thanks for posting on diary Blue - feel free to pop on anytime. Like you say mutual support. Have popped you a message on diary.
So, from now on I am living off a budget of £50 per week, going to keep a tally in my signature to keep me on track. This £50 is for EVERYTHING apart from household bills. That means food shopping, toiletries, clothes, bdays, xmas, social occassions and anything else all has to be done on the £50 budget. Sadly I am very excited about this!!!
So today withdrawn £50 (oh yes I have been to the cash point this early!!) and it has to last me until next Sat (24th) and from then on for the rest of this year I am to withdraw £50 per week every Saturday.
Luckily have the pots saving with Primula (and anyone else who fancies it, see Primulas diary) to put little bits aside from my weekly budget to help with the cost of big things like bdays and christmas.
Will update later and keep a record of any spends on a daily basis and balance remaining.... xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -
Just a quickie Jolly - OMG I have to stop coming on her at work before I get found out! Just to say good luck - I know it's your pay day and day one of the new you. Good luck with your £50 - I know you are so focused just now you will do it. Remember to check out the reduced counters at the supermarket to keep your food bill down!

Well done Jolly, I hope your determination works, you sound like you will do it, I have no doubt, I think its a good idea to do that, and something I may do myself once I have a wage coming, is the £50 for both of you? Having a debit card is so tempting sometimes, whereas if you can physically see the cash thats much better I think, I have found that taking more time has helped me, so if I think I want something I used to just pick it up and buy it, but now I have been walking round the shop a lot more, asking myself do I really need it, is it worth the money etc and more often than not I have ended up putting the item back.
Good luck with it, and look forward to seeing how you get on0 -
Thanks guys - reading your posts really keep me motivated so thank you :T
Have had a weird day, shoulder has eased off but for some reason I have now come out in a rash??? Sort of like a heat rash but for the life of me can't work out why, wonder if I have just taken too many pain killers or something.
Feeling very sorry for myself, OH is away and not back until Tues and missing him - soppy muppet:rolleyes: Normally I love it when hes away as get the place to myself, girls nights etc but feeling lonely....poor me :rotfl:
Anyhow, enough of my emotional stupidness!! On a plus I have spent no money so still have the full £50 budget so far. Have a busy weekend ahead though tomorrow meeting with friends, Sat and Sun working (day) :j Sat night friends are all coming around so will get a couple of pizzas in for that. Sunday evening I am out with a friend - the challenge is how cheaply can I do this?? I will! Thankfully I have enough food to last me ages so no need to shop as OH is away. Think it'll just be the milk and bread thing this week.
Heading off to bed now, feeling very sleepy tired...... xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -

Todays plans are -- Tidy round flat briefly (as ok) as have the girls around for evening

- Fold and pack away washing from yesterday (currently on bed!)
- Update diaries and get back to regular logging - been slack of late

Have managed to complete my list of things to do so feel much better about that. Now sat feeling a tad bored, feel like I should be doing something. I guess I should make the most of a bit of spare time for a change and relax. Weather outside is becoming nasty - makes me want to put my pj's on and curl up with a book in bed!
Need to update and change my signature so I will do that in a mo, decided to keep just total savings and current amounts spent of £50 budget for now. Finding it hard (now back at work after xmas period) to keep on top of things and not things down etc. Going to keep saving the £2 coins and will update my diary with totals on a weekly basis or something like that. Also just going to aim for as many NSD's as possible, which hopefully should be a lot more now I am able to work from home more often. Again, will update my dairy on a daily basis and note anything for a record so that it keeps me motivated.
Have the girls coming around tonight, pizza, dips and lots of gossiping I am sure. Miss not seeing them regularly since moving away from home town but nights like tonight are far more enjoyable and I look forward to it more.
Tomorrow another day with overtime and then out in the evening with friend for dinner....budget is going to be tight this week but hey, I can do it!!
Today £10 of £50 spent in nephews bday card. Must get working on adding to those pots that Primula and I have going along in preparation for future bdays.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone..... xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -
Hope you had a great night with the girls? You cant beat a good girls night in!
I love how you list your jobs to do, thats really good for motivation, I am terribly lazy, and look for excuses sometimes to not do the things I need to do, so maybe this method would work for me too, anything has to be worth a try! Well done on getting everything done, am very impressed!
Hope you're feeling better now, not long til OH is home0 -
Hi Jolly
I see you haven't posted for a while so I'm guessing your shoulder is causing you probs, hope it's on the mend, and hope you are still in the moneysaving state of mind and not gone off the rails with the frustration of your aching shoulder?! I'm sure you haven't anyway.
Hope to see your diary updated soon.
