Basically its a bit the same as Christmas turkey leftovers - keeps you going for weeks - turkey sandwiches, turkey curry, turkey soup, you get the gist.

Like Bitsy Beans, one of our best discoveries has been a farm shop which grows the widest selection of Winter Squashes we've ever seen. I like growing our own veggies but space in our garden is limited and winter squash take up a huge amount of growing space. So we make a bulk shop visit to this farm shop for several varieties of squash. They cost a third of the price you would pay in the supermarket, and stored in our cool garage they last us all through the winter.
And thanks to all the hints and tips on the Old Style thread, I've now become the Queen of Mean, which is helping to keep our living costs down.

the one thing i have learned this year is white vineger is good for softening washing (cheaper than comfort) and is also good mixed with stardrops for cleaning all over the house and as for glass is unbelievable when buffed up with the free paper!!
