I will agree with Angie about things especially following stopping anti-depressants as my mood does effect my weightloss to a degree. I also think medication can have an impact, I was on Prozac for about 5 years after being mis-diagnosed with stress/anxiety/depression as a result of work (it was in fact my Mirena hormone IUD causing the trouble, shame I found that after leaving work  ) 6 weeks after the IUD was removed I was able to stop taking the Prozac. Also at that point I became able to lose weight, albeit very slowly. I have lost 2 stone since April 2007 - prior to this when I did SW in 2005 I didnt not lose a lb over 4 months (I actually maintained at 16st 6lbs for 6 years, it was almost like the hormones just stopped everything up as well as down!!) and I have to fight for every lb to go, I also yo-yo a lot with gains (and 75% of the time I dont deserve them) I also think, on a personal level, it took my body a while to adjust to eating as for 13 months I just ate my sons left overs as I had little to no appetite so it was small bits with no real healthy stuff.

I think if you have been overweight for a long time then its going to take a while to get rid of it. My mum got to target 10 years ago and put it back on .. this time it is coming off quite easily and she has lost 4 stone in the same timeframe as my 2 stone and seems to be able to have more syns without a negative effect, I find if I go over 8 syns I can gain easily

I think we have to just remember we are all different and some people will struggle more then others (and at times that can feel so unfair!) Sometimes its worth having a look at what free food you eat/drink. I know when my mum was a consultant and nothing seemed wrong with a diet sheet at times it turned out there were just some foods that didn't suit some people. One woman switched from drinking diet soda to other drinks and that helped trigger a weight loss .. another example was grapes and bananas ... no real idea why something like that would work, but maybe its just a case of finding what works for your body. Personally I am trying to add in more veggies to my diet as well as drinking more to see if that can help :)

Also try to remember, even if you are not losing weight or maybe gaining a little .. you are still in control and if you were not in control you most likely would have gained a lot more (wish I could take my own advice at times )

    Gosh I waffle :o

    Right......

This is me finally back on track. Got weighed yesterday and had put on 3lb in 2 weeks. So it has motivated me to get back on plan properly. So im going back to basics and having red/green and only EE if I have to change throughout the day, or at the weekend etc. I feel EE is just too relaxed for me, I need something strict that im more in control over. I said a lot of this last week but never got into it. But I had a 100 % green yesterday and 100 % red today. I also asked my consultant to TELL me what amount of syns I should be having 5-15 was too vague for me. As ive got about 10lbs to lose she suggested 10 a day. So that gives me more of a focus to aim for and save special syns for the weekend.

Ill start posting my meal plans again tomorrow as I slso feel that helps me stick to what ive told everyone Im going to have lol

I alos started a new job as a Pupil support Assistant at a local school 1 1/2 days a week. I havent worked since going on mat leave in 2005. It felt great going back to work, even just for a few hours.

  • Welcome Boddy - if you are planning to read through, it should keep you busy!!

Nic - you go girl! You sound like you are totally ready to get back on track. I also stick with red and green, using EE for meals out and only occasionally otherwise. Great to hear about your new job!
  • Todays menu could be green or EE, but I went in with the mindset of EE, so I guess that is what it is :D

B 0% greek and strawbs and blueberries (free), tea (milk HA)

L hm butternut squash soup with chilli (free), bread (HB)

snack at 5pm because I was super starving - mug shot (free)

D smoked haddock (could be a B choice if I was on green, but on EE free) risotto, with leeks and peas and a poached egg on top and a rocket salad (2 syns for butter in risotto, otherwise free :D) and totally delish...

    G&T (2.5) and glass chardonnay (6)

  • Dont want to trawl through previous posts but what are mugshots? havent read all the sw books yet after joining 2 weeks ago, had a close family berevment and funeral on Monday, so not getting into it properly yet.
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....
  • Mug shot are a cross between a cup a soup and a pot noodle. The ones labelled as 1% fat (a clear flash on the front of the packaging) are free on green or easy. They can be about 50p each, so worth looking for them on offer.

Sorry you have had a tough few weeks - look after yourself ..
  • Hi guys hope everyones week is going well! Heres my diary from yesterday

    Lunch-Jacket with Beans

    Tea- Veg Lasagne (7 syns)
    Salad (Ceasar Dressing 3.5 syns)

Have eaten out for tea on Tues and Weds so I am being very good the rest of the week.
