Mookybar girl - usually you can download lists of free and HE food and a basic syns list which you then open in Adobe.

    See you later

Adobe would be fine, but how? I'm just not seeing it :o
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
  • Hi, sorry for not explaining properly. I am on a few different medications for diabetes, high blood pressure and depression plus a few others. I was just wondering if any of these would stop me losing weight. I have a feeling it is the green diet that just doesnt work for me on its own  maybe if i try alternating it with the red that would work ( saw that suggestion on an earlier post). Thank you to the people who have tried to help :T .
I usually have weetabix, and 7 ryvita high fibre crackerbread or meat or fish, or the extra virgin olive oil for my HEB's, milk for my HE a's and syns vary from quavers 1 pack,or 3 snack a jack jumbo caramel, or 2 fig biscuits.I eat mostly quorn made into spag bol, curry, chilli, with rice, or stir fries with noodles( all made with recipes from SW).sorry for long post.

    Sorry to hear you're struggling.
In any case you are being fantastic by taking positive steps for your health. Keep it up!
i know it sounds weird but past experience has shown that if you don't have all your syn allowance you may actually be harming your weightloss.
SW put the number of syns to 15 a day bc that's what 40 years in the business has proved to be the best scenario.
The other thought i had was are your HEs measured accurately?

ask your consultant re pills - she may be able to tell you - or ask your GP .

Do you do any excercise too ? I walk for 40-60 mins 2-4 times a week - that'd also help lift your mood - trust me I speak from experience - it's amazing what the release of endorphins does for one's mood :T
Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
    Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying
  • I never thought having less syns would affect it, thanks for that info :T . I always measure things out if it says to. Someone just told me sleeping pills plus anti depressants can slow and even stop weightloss  well i am just going to have to try every way around it i can think of, red for a week and then red green alternating. Surely i will have to lose something at some point  .

    Yes, I completely agree!
    you can do it! :T

BTW, I am on antidepressants too and sometimes have incredibly crippling days. Things have gotten much better since I forced myself to do just 10min of exercise. A great place for free online workout videos is: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/videos.asp
Also, there's a very supportive depression board right here on MSE: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1481361 as well as on https://www.sparkpeople.com.

  • I also suffer from depression, but have been off the antidepressants for 18 months or so now. I cannot prove this, but it is my feeling that mood (rather than the drugs) can affect weight loss - If I have a very bad week emotionally, I will never lose, but the minute I am having a better week, my weight loss has accelerated.

I am well aware that this is massively oversimplifying the situation, but I strongly believe that when I suffer depression (with or without ad's), my metabolism slows, making it harder for me to shift the lb's.

Slimming world does work though, and I echo previous posters to say, you definitely can do it, and it can help to make you feel better too :D

Mookybar girl, on the body optimise front page, click on Getting started and then What's next. this will then give you the opportunity to download red and green plans. Extra easy is in the gettting started main section, IYSWIM. you can only get to this bit if you're a body optimise member a but I don't know about the slimming world website in their members section.
