  • :j Dear all, happy Sunday!

Thanks for your responses, SkintCatt and others re my pitta bread query, I can accept that it has no fibre and is therefore useless as a healthy extra, thanks.

I'm still baffled by the tinned/cooked tomatoes vs tinned/cooked (other) fruit thing though ... I remember asking this at class a year ago and didn't get a satisfactory answer (I'm not meaning to sound rude here! just that I need to know WHY I have to do a thing or not do it :o ).

The other thing that bothers me is why passatta is free but tomato puree is not? Tom puree I would only use a little squirt to get the same effect (colour, taste and an amount of thickening) that takes half a pack of passata. Again, it's all processed fruit (tomato), and passatta is basically tomato juice. I am soooo sorry to be picky but would truly appreciate any hints as to why :o. Thing is, the savoury things are important to me as I don't have a sweet tooth therefore flavoured yogs, cereal bars, etc are no use to me, whereas my HEA of cheese melted inside a lovely pitta bread, especially with a smear of tomato puree inside, would be a fab snack :D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Hi, I would love to join this thread if thats ok. I've followed the SW plan in the past and lost lots of weight which I have sadly regained over a few years. Im going to follow the plan using up to date books but without going to the sessions, I cant afford them. Im also on a budget.
I managed to pick up a pack of Mullerlight half price in Sainsburys today, they are the new chocolate range. Does anyone know how many sins they are?

Have we established that the new Mullerlight vanilla one with chocolate sprinkles is free? I hope so as I tried one this afternoon after doing the shopping and I love them!

HI all - hope everyone is well. I am still following EE and wanted to make a lasagna for tea - usually make the Baked Bean one but can make a mince one now! Anyways Ive never made a meat lasagna so does this sound ok

brown mince, onions and mushrooms, add tinned toms, herbs and seasoning and use that to make the lasagna or should I be adding something else to the base - bovril maybe like the cottage pie recipe?

Grated Half fat cheese over the top (dont drink milk so can use this as my 1 Healthy A)

What do all you amazing cooks think! x x

I also add crushed garlic and dried herbs plus a big dollop of marmite to make it taste extra meaty

IKWYM blackberry but folks with loads of experience have calculated this out carefully and its something along the lines of: eg. apples, they have got sugar in them (even though it is natural) and you would probably struggle to eat 30 apples in one day but you could easuly drink 30 pureed/processed appples in the form of juice - so you are taking in LOADS of sugar.
Im pretty sure there is very little natural sugar in tomatoes so even if you squished 30 toms you wouldn't be taking in loads of sugar / calories. This is how it was explained to me, i hope its right, if its not then the quick answer is "Just because it is" (thats what i tell my children when i dont know the answer :o ).:rotfl:

Hi Kezz, go a few pages back and you'll find a discussion re these - I think they were 2 syns for the choc/orange & choc/chery and free for the choc/vanilla

    Thanks Zav.

I just checked on the syns calculator and it says 22 Syns for the whole jar of sauce....which is still quite high, but better than 47.5 Syns like it said in my directory:confused:
