Oh dear, I got my current books in July 2008, are they going to be out of date? The food directory is for 2008/9.0 -
Having an EE day today;
Breakfast; bacon in scrambled egg with baked beans
Exercise; Only walked four miles today as my back was stiff
Lunch; pizza at my parents (22 syns for my half  Lucky I haven't had many syns the last few days!)
Dinner; Roast Beef, mixed roasted veg, yorkshire puds (11syns:eek:)
Snack; Hi-Fi bar or SF jelly (0.5syns)
Bit much for the night before WI but oh well

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday?
We're doing a traditional Sunday roast this evening, or rather I am! lol the beef is in the oven and the OH is hovering around saying how nice it smells
I'm loving EE days and today is another one for me
Breakfast -
Weetabix and Mullerlight
Lunch - Left over tomato and mushroom pasta and another Mullerlight
Dinner - Roast beef, dry roast potatoes, mixed vegetables, yorkshire puds and a little gravy
I've also had a couple of squares of chocolate, milk in tea and a tub of melon pieces.
I had a dilemma earlier wondering how to get away with cooking the beef without too many syns then it dawned on me that the fat will drain away into the tin whilst its cooking! (its sitting on a rack in the tin)

kezz your books aren't out of date.:j EE is an addition to the existing plans, not replacing them, the syns are the same as in your directory - you just take the lower amount of the two when on EE.When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

Thanks for your responses, SkintCatt and others re my pitta bread query, I can accept that it has no fibre and is therefore useless as a healthy extra, thanks.
I'm still baffled by the tinned/cooked tomatoes vs tinned/cooked (other) fruit thing though ... I remember asking this at class a year ago and didn't get a satisfactory answer (I'm not meaning to sound rude here! just that I need to know WHY I have to do a thing or not do it).
The other thing that bothers me is why passatta is free but tomato puree is not? Tom puree I would only use a little squirt to get the same effect (colour, taste and an amount of thickening) that takes half a pack of passata. Again, it's all processed fruit (tomato), and passatta is basically tomato juice. I am soooo sorry to be picky but would truly appreciate any hints as to why. Thing is, the savoury things are important to me as I don't have a sweet tooth therefore flavoured yogs, cereal bars, etc are no use to me, whereas my HEA of cheese melted inside a lovely pitta bread, especially with a smear of tomato puree inside, would be a fab snack
I used to be a slimming world consultant and the reason pureed fruit is sinned is because its to do with energy density and bulk. for instance, you would eat a whole apple or orange and the bulkness of the fruit would satisfy your hunger for an apple or an orange. However, once you puree a batch of apples or squeeze loads of oranges to drink, you then can consume a lot more before you would get the same feeling of satiety (fullness), therefore you would be taking in a hell of a lot more calories.
The reason this doesn't apply to tomoatoes is because generally veg are very low in energy density (they don't have many calories for the size of them, I appreciate toms are classed as a fruit but they are so low in calories in their whole state that it doesn't matter if you eat loads.
Unsure about the tomato puree thing thoughAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

zavarony - thats fine as it was free (I'm guessing it wasn't on a red day)! It's just I've been so good with my syns all week then my Mum put a pizza in front of us when we called in for a cuppa!0

Zavarony and Skint_catt, just make sure you've had plenty of fibre today! :rotfl:
Well I didn't have the syn laden bacon buttie, mainly because I was too late! So I have been a little angel so far today. I'm cooking up a batch of leek & potato soup for through the week, some brussel sprout and potato for making bubble & squeak potato cakes, and leftover gammon in a quiche.
Despite having 3 meals cooking I can't decide what I want for dinner tonight! :rotfl:0 -
(damn I just wrote loads and lost it so I will just say thanks to kandipandi and milliemonster but I still believe toms are just as sweet as apples and as long as I lose a little each week it is cheaper to buy puree from Netto than Passata from Asda or Tesco) *smiley*
there will be no smileys in this because I pressed advanced and lost everything so no chancing it again! *smiley*
Just had my exercise by walking to the pub and back, and lost the benefits by having 2 glasses of wine and some pork scratchings *burpy smiley* I love sundays.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Oh dear, my OH thought he would be helpful and basted the beef and potatoes with the fat from the tin!
I'll have to syn all that now, what with the chocolate I've already gobbled and the yorkshire pud and gravy to come I think I'll be over the limit!
