Many thanks! I have managed to get return tickets for two to Dublin from East Midlands airport for just 4p!!!!! What an absolute bargain! Be careful though, you will be charged £20 to pay if you don't have a VISA electron. You do get charged more if you wish to check in at the airport or be one of the first on the plane, also you will be charged extra for insurance unless you choose not to have it.

  • ironically, i would prefer to be last on the plane! I think it would be much more pleasant to wait in an airport rather than crammed on a plane going nowhere :)
  • Finally had an actual occasion to trial this ryanair deal. I've just booked a trip from Stanstead to Dublin for a weekend and it really was 0p per person per flight. However, it was £20 each for taxes. I could handle that. £40 in total. It was all going swimmingly until I confirmed it and got my receipt saying it was £60. They are sneeky. Wish I'd properly read the posts on this website before (and presumably it said something on-screen, although I must say I didn't see it.) The £20 extra is the Ryanair 'Handling Fee'. Whatever the hell that is! I mean, they don't even use a speck of ink or a piece of paper to print you a ticket, I think this £20 fee is a bit steep really. Still, it was definitely the cheapest on the block, although by mere pennies I think. I paid by Mastercard (as I don't have an Electron) but also bc I thought I might have some protection if they go bust before I get to Dublin. This may or may not be true.
  • The 0p flights have taxes added to them, the 1p flights include taxes but there are restrictions on days and times of flying so you wouldn't have got w/end flights.

As you don't have an electron card you will pay £5 per person per leg of journey as given here...

  • 2p return from london to alghero, sardinia, at end jan (out 22 jan back 27 jan).
I booked this about 3 weeks ago, said NO to bags to check in, NO to insurance form Ryanair and used my electron card, ha! Bargain. Although Ryanair do treat customers terribly, am happy to be subjected to that for 2 hours at this price.

    Completely agree.

I'd much rather saunter on peacefully and leave straight away than fight to be first in a queue and sit for ages on the plane!
  • I can't agree that Ryan Air treat customers terribly. I've heard such bad press about them, late flights, the lot, but I've never experienced it & I hop back & forth to Dublin & Kerry, as do my frinds in both those places, taking advantage of the 1p & 99p all inclusives whenever we can.

I've just booked 4 of us for a weekend in Tralee in January - Luton to Kerry - £5 there, 1p return. Unfortunately one doesn't have a passport & is travelling on her driving licence, so I've booked her separately for airport check-in at £10, but I think we can cope with that & my Electron card wasn't too unhappy about it ;)

The free flights are generally for midweek/Sat pm travel, so if you want a typical weekend away you'll have to pay more.

Credit card protection only kicks in for transactions of £100+, but in this case it doesn't really matter cos Ryanair isn't going to go bust any time soon. Indeed, as it's got more cash and fewer overheads than almost anyone else, it's probably safer than the banks right now!

Ditto. Maybe it's because I fly from LPL rather than STN, but I've never had anything other than friendly, helpful staff and an efficient and reliable service. And that's before we even get to the fantastic value for money. Indeed of all my journeys the worst thing that's happened is two half-hour delays.
