We booked some flights a while ago and got one of the 0p flights (one way). We also had the charges for using debit card and handling but what annoyed me was we weren't allowed to check in online, even though we are not taking any bags, so we had to pay extra for airport check in as well!
Still it works out at a cheap way of travelling but it's the way they advertise it and all the clauses is what gets peoples backs up. :mad:0 -

Why couldnt you check in online, no passport?0 -

Someone on HUKD has reported buying a gift voucher online using their normal credit card. They then used this to pay for their flights without being charged. They bought a voucher worth £30, not sure what the minimum is BUT you have to spend it within 6 months. Might be worth a look if you know you will spend the balance soon.
I can confirm this works - check the prices of flights first and buy a voucher for more (available in £25 units - allow some hours or possibly a day for this to confirm and send itself to you by e-mail as the number is active immediately). The voucher can be paid for with other (non Electron) cards with no charge. When booking if the voucher is for more than the flight the credit card selector isn't presented. Not sure about "change" on the voucher (i.e. you use £47 of £50 - is the £3 still there - I really don't know as yet). You can use up to 4 vouchers per booking. Anyone know about part-used vouchers?0 -

Part-used vouchers cannot be carried over to future bookings. The £3 'change' you mention is forfeited, so it's only something to do if you don't get upset about that sort of thing.0 -

Why weren't you allowed to check in online? The only reason I can think of is if you have special assistance or don't have an EU/EEA ID document (or fly from one of the small number of airports where they don't allow online check-in), but in these cases Ryanair waives the airport check-in fee so you shouldn't have to pay it.
Unless of course you don't have a printer, in which case it's not really the airline's fault...0 -
I had a look , they have some in feb but with taxes and stuff they actually cost you about £30 pound., But the £15 flights are actually £15 so it would be cheaper to do that.

Folks
I dunno if you looked at other flights, but booking the 'expensive flights' on Ryniair, is exactly the same!!!!
I priced the 0.01 flights they had taxes included and came to 30Euros.
I priced the 15Euro flights with no taxes and they came to 30Euros return. Same price. Deceitful advertising on another website.
I really cannot understand why Moneysavingexpert.com ALWAYS FALLS FOR Mr O'LEARY's and RYANAIRS TRICKS.

You have to be prepared to be very flexible to get the best offers, which do exist. You are checking the flight prices AFTER the deal has finished also0 -
I booked one of these deals on Tuesday - East Mids to Dublin, 10 Feb, 2 adults, 1 child, returning the same day (early flight out and late flight back) for a total of 6p! Used my visa electron - so no added charges, no need to book in extra luggage for the day and got my insurance from a comparison site for £7 all in. Cheaper than going to the local city for a day on public transport for the 3 of us!
V. pleased!0 -

As an extra moneysaving tip, make sure you get the normal city bus rather than the 'Airport Express' one - ten minutes longer on the journey time will save you about 5euros each way per person. Also, buy tickets at the tourist info desk in the terminal building to avoid the queues outside. hth0
