Can you imagine? No one would believe me if I said that after the things i've done this year!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
That's my lab tech skills. I had a fridge freezer break down early one dec and no money. I turned it into an 'icebox' by freezing water in my freezer (which still worked, obviously!) in very large plastic containers and just put one in each morning and exchanged it each evening. It worked perfectly - the ice blocks never fully thawed and the fridge stayed cool until after xmas when I got one in the sales.
ETA - had a cup of tea - drink 3 (and I never normally drink tea of an evening)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

All this talk of fridges, well, i'm decluttering. Large glass of bailey's being poured as I type to make more room in the fridge xx0

Our you having a switching on ceremony? Is it better than blackpool lights? xx
It was certainly better than the blackpool lights and cheaper to run too :rotfl::rotfl:
I gave it a ceremonial wash with fairy liquid then raised a glass of a rather cheaky Pinot Grigio (I decided it wouldn't be very OS to break a bottle of champagned across its bows!) in its direction and flicked the switch.
Opened the doors and voila - there was light! It's also humming very quietly to itself which means it must be doing something other than lighting.
I did get a bit philosophical and wondered why it wasn't all black and mouldy inside? You know, when the fridge turns itself off for no apparent reason and you come back from holiday to find it all black and mouldy?
Maybe that's why they say you need to wash it all before hand...?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
