Froddy hows your ironing mountain - are you going to have yours finished by new year??? I have sorted mine into personal and household stuff - will probably try to do the household stuff first as I hate that and get it out of the way - i can usually whizz over my own stuff pretty quickly as it never needs much.
    toots xx

Errmm :o My iron mountain is looking lovely - it's pretty high and very neat and colourful :p

I AM going to have it finished by New Year though - even if it takes hours and hours and hours and hours .............

Vivw - slow cookers are great. I prep things the night before, stick the dish bit in the fridge then put it on 'low' when I leave for work so mine is at least 12 hours. Meat really does melt in your mouth
Frodders - things sorted out. DS and I had a chat and both apologised. DiL went to work before I got up and isn't back yet. We'll have a chat when she gets home
Dusty - I HAD to do the dump. The bin is full already and won't get emptied until Tuesday. I have one bin bag space 'booked' in nice neighbour's bin. The recycle bins are full too. So, there was a lot of rubbish (non-recyclable wrapping paper, the polystyrene and cardboard etc. from the fridge on christmas Eve and the Kenwood packaging) - I didn't want it hanging around another week. Your new flying plan sounds good
JulieJim - roast it long and slow covered in foil - all the fat drips out then.

Oh blow - look what's left of my list - maybe I can find an emergency freezer defrost or something to do instead.... :rotfl:

Johanne Pumpkin is sooooooooo cute x

I keep meaning to buy a slow cooker but never get round to it, I'm so envious of you all coming home to the smell of a home cooked meal, got me some xmas money so may treat myself......I'm just really worried I won't use it much.

I'm off to clean the loo :hello:

Lil_me.. I have a years worth of dishwasher tablets lol.. I bought then on BOGOF in tesco when they had 50% extra free.. so it was like getting 3 bags for the price of one.. I've not bought any since July and have 8 bags left!

I've cleaned out litter trays this morning and filled a bag of rubbish.. the boxes of toys are reducing due to the packaging being discarded.. :D.. there isn't such a monstrous pile when you remove the cardboard!

Today we are going to blitz the kitchen (again) and the back room.. my remaining turkey bits are simmering merrily on the stove into stock.. I can't decide whether to just blitz it and use it as broth or whether to make it into a casserole.. just having to fish the little bones out now the big ones are all removed.

I have a tesco delivery tomorrow so we shall replenished stocks of real food.. and I am hoping the cheque from the insurance company come through tomorrow too.. I must order my cooker on Tuesday for Wednesday delivery so will use the remaining child benefit, 2 lots of tax credits (saved lsat weeks) and some of hubbys wages to pay for it and pay my mortgage when the cheque comes through.

I'm sending DD1 out for fruit and veg today though as we have nothing but carrots and kiwi fruit left.

Oh my TD is definitely deceased so I need to replace that too..

Oh my house is a state.. I don't know where to start!!!

Off for a HHPH (half hour personal hygiene!).. back later..

As does the threat of disection, disembowelment, beheading or surgical removal from the respective electronic entertainment device

Thanks for the replies re slow cooker. Its making me think that perhaps its a possibility. What cuts/kinds of meat do you use. I hate fatty meat but also don't want my costs to rise...
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
