:bdaycake: Happy Birthday pigpen ! :bdaycake:It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0

DS2 has just come down - I've been up for a few lovely peaceful hours, curled up with a book which DD bought me. Really indulgent, usualy too busy rushing around! Even so, I have tidied the livingroom, all the presents are neatly stacked, even if they are not out of the room - I like to keep mine handy for a little gloating!
The sun is shining, and I'm thinking I may pop out in the garden for a little playtime...
TAG - lol at your son's request for some quality time with you - yup, translated correctly, it's a big box!!!

Morning everyone, and most importantly:
Pigpen
Glad everyone had a nice day yesterday. I had a disaster with my mince pies - they (8/12) got stuck in the bottom of my tin even though I greased them, so they all broke when I tried to get them out. I was heartbroken as I was going to take them all around to my Mum and Dad's today, but now they will have to have broken bottomed pies. Think it may have been because I used a muffin tin instead of a shallower tin. Anyway, we tasted one last night (the most broken up one) and they were nice and light, if a little dry. They'll be fine warmed with some cream on. Called my Mum and she's had a disaster with the Christmas cake too - she left all of the decorations at my Nan's so couldn't ice it until my sister drove to get them (30 mins each way).
Presents so far:
Some sports headphones for the gym,
A lovely black cat apron which I wore to make the mincepies yesterday,
a great digital Salter kitchen timer so I can now do HHCs with a portable timer,
Lindor Milk Chocolate truffles (my favourite)
Kung Fu Panda DVD (OH wanted to watch this) All from OH :T
A digital keyring that you can download photos onto & a handbag (from BIL)
A hideous hand ring and jewellary holder (from MIL)
Lots of chocolates and smellies from children at school
We gave the cat a mouse toy that squeaks when you touch it yesterday, but he's terrified of it, and I found him hiding in my cupboard which is where he is hiding again today.
Off to parents for 11.30 so best go and have some breakfast.
Hope everyone has a lovely day today,

Good morning everyone.
I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday, that Santa was kind to you, that you enjoyed time with family and friends, and perhaps, for a time, remembered the true meaning of Christmas.
PIGPEN - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:bdaycake:
I had smellies, PJs, slipper socks, smelly candle stuff, 2 Willow Tree figures, and an IPOD, and Jamie Oliver's DS thingy for the DS that I share with DS (IYSWIM)
The young folk had there stockings in the morning, then I was busy with dinner, but in between whiles watching soppy films etc.
Dinner was lovely (if I do say so myself) and spot on for timing. Somehow, on Christmas Day, I always make it for 1.30, yet every ordinary day, the timing is hit and miss!
After dinner was present opening. We've always done it like this, and we all take it in turns to open a gift instead of everyone diving in. It's much nicer to take it a bit slower, I think. You have time to enjoy each gift.
We never did get round to playing a game, as we were all enjoying what was on TV, and both girls (DD and friend) had a nap. I took DS to his GF, then sis and I drove up to Abergavenny, back through Usk and collected him about an hour later.
Back home for a cold meats, cheeses and salads buffet for tea. OH went to bed at about 10 to have a read, I went up a bit later and had a wallow in the bath with my new smellies and left the young folk to lock up. I slept like a log until 9.30!
Sis has gone round to DB's for a shower (as ours are OS and she doesn't like baths). DS, DD and DDF are still in bed. OH is on catering duties today, so I'm off for a walk along the river with the dogs shortly. Sis may be back in time to join me.
Hope you all have a lovely day today.

Morning all,
I hope everyone had a good day yesterday, all seemed to go well here but just went very quickly.
currently watching mamma mia then I need to tackle the kitchen, did most of it yesterday but just need to unload & reload the DW and give the kitchen a quick S&S.

Hello all
Didn't get on yesterday as we were out mostly! Hope you all had lovely days. Will fill you in whilst I warm the croissants for breakfast.
We opened our stockings in bed with a cup of tea and then had bacon and egg rolls and smoothie. We then cracked open a bottle of champagne (first married Christmas!) and had a croissant, whilst opening our presents from each other (I would usually save them til later but we thought it was nice just with the two of us). Then church, back here to finish the champagne then up to in laws. Lunch then present opening, then games (which I love) and buffet tea later (more food!!)
I got some lovely presents (lots from my amazon list) - plus some nice surprises! Just made a pudding for later (Christmas mark 2 at DH's aunt's)
Hope all are well, will endeavour to catch up later

We braved the sales today, need a new dishwasher (integrated).
Curry's - none on show, so they'll sell you a £350 box but won't let you see inside first - I don't think so
So off to Comet - clearly states 25% to be taken off at the till - not when we got there:eek: so walked out of there. Will be ordering online, getting free delivery and any other points/cashback I can squeeze. Do these people think we are simple or what.
So now trying to get the order sorted out but the server is down at Comet, but I will get it sorted eventually.
Lovely weather, hope everyone is having a pleasant Boxing day and will see you all later.0 -
Jay Jay let me know which DW you go for - ours is really old and doesn't wash properly at least once a week. You made me smile yesterday - my brocolli was inedible and I cook it at least twice every week. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
