Merry Christmas All! :santa2:
Logging in to send seasons greetings and say thanks all for your support. I’ve never been this organised. Breakfast and presents opening went well. DS really enjoyed the experience and DD loved the paper. The rest of the day should go to plan. Yes plan, I have a plan! Yippee!:j Thanks pigpen for the lists it has really made the difference!
Merry Christmas everyone!:xmassign:
irieThe work will wait for you to finish showing the LOs the rainbow, but the rainbow would not wait for you to finish the work.0 -
Gobbler sliced.. about an hour left on the pig and hubby is preparing potatoes.. My sister was meant to be here hours ago so we could take my mother and pa their christmas present but she hasn't turned up.. and now she can blooming wait until I've eaten!
Off to clear both tables and load the WM's and TD's.. DD1 can put away the folded laundry too.
I have food to prepare for tomorrow later and need to create space in my fridge for jellies and con my mother into trifle making!
I got some hideous candle holders with candles that don't match! from hubby.. but he liked them.. and I have an inkling I'm getting a gaudy mirror for my birthday tomorrow.. Watch those eyeballs roll... I hope they don't get too fluffy lol.. I have a book, the Jamie Oliver one.. I NEARLY bought him it.. some lush smellies and a chocolate santa.. oh.. and gun n roses new album (that I already downloaded lol ssshhh)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
soappie, the boys said I have to say thank you! They're over the moon with the police station and have said they're going to make a start on it tomorrow......
Tell them it was the least I could do - I was pleased to be able to help and I'm sorry about the box being cut in half. But, I still want that photo when it's done!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Well, dinner eaten and just finished so not too bad by Soappie standards (I'm getting better as the years go on!)
Only trouble is I cut my thumb slicing the melon to go with the starter. It's still bleeding two hours later! But, the eighth guest (DS's friend) is a trained first aider and has dressed it twice for me with the limited resources in my first aid drawer.
Now need to go and tackle mountains of washing up...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

soappie they don't even know what the box looks like so don't think it bothers them in the slightest, 90% of the carboard packaging off the other toys is ripped up and in the recycling bin, I do find it amazing how overpackaged these toys are! Hope your [strike]finger[/strike] thumb stops leaking soon! (Try keeping it elevated for a while)
DP woken (third year he's had breakfast and gone back to sleep at midday while I cooked/showered/dealt with darn twisty ties!) Dinner eaten, there is enough for probably 3/4 more meals in meat leftI always do too much, will be either used tomorrow or frozen for another day
noone can even manage pudding and I didn't even do a starter :rotfl: Dog has had his dinner and is now asleep on DP. DS1s helping tidy and little DS2 who's still unwell has gone back to bed (after whining on for ages) Still got to go to DPs Dad's, tried to get out of it with DS2 being still not right but no such luck. Not until 5.30pm ish so plenty of time to wrap their things, actually, I might recycle some of the gift bags we've got
One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Lil-me - I always do too much as well. Even with 8 of us sitting down, there's plenty left for meals for the next couple of days. My new fridge has already earned its keep!
But, DD has already asked if she can take any leftovers back with her tomorrow. She says she loves leftovers!
Guests have just gone so it's now family and me. I was thwarted in my washing up by the fact I'd run out of hot water! DD is just walking the dog then, when she gets back, we're going to play monopoly as a family. Which will be nice. The washing up can wait!
It'll also give me chance to elevate the leaking thumb!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Happy Christmas everyone!
Lovely lovely day here - lots of presents and food, and reasonably behaved boys (6 & 58 - LOL).
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
Dinner eaten - we don't have a starter, and I only noticed that the Redwoods Celebration roast I'd bought said 'serves 2' - there are 5 of us  Luckily I'd done loads of veg, so there was plenty. We haven't had pudding yet and we finished our dinner about an hour ago. We'll have pudding later on as an evening meal
.
When I was a child we used to have huge dinners, then huge teas later on. And it wasn't just on Christmas Day either - Christmas Eve and Boxing Day as well as New Year's Day!
DD2 didn't get a 'house with horses' that she wanted as I couldn't find one in time (discovered a few goods ones on the internet yesterday ) but she did get a horse trailer with two horses, jumps and a 4x4 to pull it, so I've told her that as Father Christmas couldn't find her one we will get her one for her birthday on 3rd Feb. She got a hobby horse from a friend the other day, and that gets tucked up in bed (think images of The Godfather :rotfl:).
Right, off to have a :coffee: now and going to peruse my patchwork book and listen to Matt Monro while I do it0 -
Just popping in to say Merry Christmas!
We having a lovely relaxing day, and everything went smoothly yesterday - except that for the first year ever, I went to bed before the teens! I did get up at 2.30am to yell at DS1 to go to bed though... Father Christmas had to tiptoe downstairs with stockings very early this morning.
All seem happy with their presents - the boys are particularly pleased with the PS3, and have been shooting and zapping all afternoon. Have to stop soon, for Dr Who.
I have a lovely mohair blanket, chocolates, promise of a clothes shopping trip from DD, and a digital photo frame - I'm a very happy bunny!
Have a lovely evening. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Merry Christmas everyone.
Never got a chance to get back on yesterday to busy wrapping and eating.
Had a bit of a problem putting the santa stuff out as DD's make do room is beside the livingroom so we were worried she would get up in the middle of the night for the toilet. So all santa stuff in kitchen until we got up this morning.
Hubby was like a child this morning and had me up at 6.30, kids didn't get up till 8.:o
Thankfully didn't have to worry about dinner here as we go down to MIL's house but i do have to do a bit of a christmas dinner tomorrow.
Kids all happy with what they got and hubby, BIL and DS1 all on the PS3, DD watching a dvd on her new tv and DS2 colouring in. So think i'm just gonna chill out tonight.
I just want to say a big Thank You to everyone in this thread, your all fantastic and i hope you've all had a lovely day. You've all kept me going over this last year, espically when things have been really tough. Pigpen thank you so much for the lists as this morning went like a dream and my life feels so much easier with the lists each week, without them i would be living in madness. :A
Right i'm away to see if i can calm down 3 hyper children.:rotfl:Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0
