On the pc copy the file from the following location ~
    C:\Windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe
and paste into EXACTLY the SAME location on your laptops drive
(That should work so far as I can tell)

This is a system file and so will be hidden by default - hence the suggestion to use

    copy c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe e:\windows\system32\

at the command prompt. Did it work?

Just a thought - have you tried rebooting and connecting again. If you had a temporary mishap with the wiring, most USB ports will detect a fault and shut down. Worth a try...
  • ive rebooted and tried . think im cursed and shouldnt give up my day job (not that i have one) :(
  • fixed it , at last:)
uninstalled and re-installed usb port and it worked, (after hours googling the errors)
Thnkyou soooooo soooooooo much for the help
especially fwor and Aienrik without your help it would hav cost me a fortune t get it repaired.
