Shame to throw it away, though, as it's definitely fixable...
What options do you get with the F12 key???0 -
a laptop without a cd drive??
oops.........:idea:0 -
It's certainly not good, that's for sure.
Not sure why I should be defending AVG, particularly as I don't use it any more but...
In fairness to AVG, I ~think~ that a Windows Update at some point in the recent past makes changes to NTOSKRNL.EXE, and AVG then flags that change up as a possible threat next time it does a scan.
Of course, if the user is not aware that it's a ~really bad idea~ to delete that file, then they're screwed.
No - still not a great advert for the product...0 -
i get these options with f8
safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
enable boot logging
enable VGA mode
last known good configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
directory services restore mode(windows domain conrollers only)
debugging mode
disable automatic restart on system failure
start windows normally
reboot
return to OS choices menu
anything usefull ?

Last known good would be great but... it probably won't work as a key component is missing.
Try it anyway.0 -
Safe mode and safe mode with networking are the ones to use. But as youve physically 'deleted' the windows file, I cant see you doing anything without a cd drive to repair windows.:idea:0
