  • 5800? :rotfl:

i got a 5610 on release as a competition prize and it fell to pieces within weeks, rushed out pile of junk like most modern nokias

You can hardly accuse the 5800 of being rushed to market - it was featured as a product placement in The Dark Knight and will be the first Nokia touch screen (post iPhone release) to come out so of all the bransd, I would say LG and Samsung were the ones who rushed their touch screen models out.

HTC touch diamond if you want something that'll fit into your pocket easily.
Samsung Pixon and the HTC HD if you want a bigger screen.
Or the Samsung Tocco F480 if you don't want or need windows mobile os.
Most should be on offer just after this holiday we have coming up. . .

bet the Storm was dear was it ?? also i like your ikkle dog :)

I got the phone free, I am on a 24 month contract. I get 700 minutes, 250 texts, free landline calls, unlimited internet. it is £35 per month. Were as the G1 was £30 per month on an 18 month contract. That was from Phones 4 U rather than going directly through Vodafone. Vodafone directly did not offer the free landline calls which I like. (I know I should of gone through quidco)

Having used the Blackberry Storm, I have to say I wasn't impressed. You literally have to press the screen down into the phone for it to take the keypress. The screen moves under pressure.
I found it very odd - hardly a 'touch screen' phone insofar that a light touch should select/work as a keypress.

I've been playing with a couple over the last few weeks, for me the iphone and the LG Renoir were the easiest to use by a country mile.
  • I suppose its down to individual prefrence, i've loved the storm since I got it. I like the click screen on it, it took a bit of getting used to at first but now I find I can text on that as quick as texting on my Nokia N95. I don't think the camera is upto much on it but then personally I am not bothered about that. I have not had any problems with the screen moving. Some have complained about battery life but in comparison with the G1 I have not had any problems at all with that I bought one of those docking cradle thingies so at night time I put it in that and it charges it up over night, as well as turning into an alarm clock when it goes into bedside mode, I spend alot of time travelling listening to music, doing email, instant messaging on AIM, and MSN as well as jabbering away on the phone so for me it suits it's purpose the only thing that I am not 100% with is my switch from T Mobile to Vodafone, I think T Mobile was far superior as a network, with 3G signal and all that.

Opps sorry for waffling hoping I am making sense:)

Hmm, peeps seem to have forgotten that this is Money-Saving-Expert.... duh... geddit?

So can I refer y'all back to Post #6 where you can get a consumer touch phone for around £100 (and even Quidco). Being UNLOCKED can be very handy as the current crop of phones are harder to unlock. And the Virgin 30p/day "all the data you can eat in a day" tariff (started 8th Dec) can be used....
