My Credit Card has been debitted for the £529.94 and the status of the order on the Curry's website has changed to "delivery booked".

This was for an order made on Friday 3rd December at 10:00am.

Received it today. Only problem is that there is supposed to be some special code somewhere within the documentation so you can get your free CF card, mine doesn't.

I've contacted Curry's but if anyone knows which bit of documentation it's on could they tell me please

If you want to just repack it and send the lot to me I'll check through all the documentation for you leseratte.gif

Can't say fairer than that, can Idckix.gif
  • I've place two orders with curry's over the last week and they've cancelled both due to lack of stock. The icing on the cake came today though. They cancelled my order at 9.30AM and then had the camera back in stock by 11.30AM.

Needless to say I'll now be buying the camera from a reputable, reliable company - sometimes it's just not worth saving that little bit extra!

PS. I just hope it gets reduced in the sales so I can claim on the Barclaycard price promise!!!!!!!

a word of warning about the 300d at currys ...

the stock they are selling are sourced from the US. they do allegedly give u the £100 back, but the boxes (in my experience) do not a have a round sticker on them which has a 8 digit code on it format: XXXX-XXXX, this is for the 256mb Compact Flash Card !

I know this because I bought one in shop and got them to match the website price. They tried all ways to make me pay extra insurance but I rode it out and got the price match.

I've been to other shops and seen the sticker .... When u register the camera it'll also ask for the code. I'm in the limbo where canon point blank refuse to give it out without the code, and who can blame them, and currys aint got a clue ... going back tonight with some docs and we'll see. Camera is fantasic ...

    :o
  • Which price did you get them to match mate? The top line price on the website isn't that amazing, only a few quid less then ebuyer for example. It's the egg discount and the additional online discount code that makes it so attractive.

It would be good to hear if you managed to get this price (£529 odd less the £100 cashback) in store, as I know my local store have stock.

Hi guys, am in the market for one of these and had a good look on 7dayshop's site.  Looks like they are based in Guernsey, which after a quick google appears to be in the UK.  Therefore the £100 cashback will be valid.

Their stock is showing as being updated at present, so i'm waiting for an in stock or out of stock annoucement.

    Cheers

    TJ

If the warranty is with Canon UK then you will be able to get the £100 cashback, as 7dayshop is offering its own warranty on its Canon items I am pretty sure this will be excluded, but I would suggest that you check with Canon before you buy.

i really do want this camera so bad!

so disappointed that i've missed out on the 10pc off, and they've also stuck an extra £17 on their 580 price, i'd probably still buy it with the 5pc off though if they had any in stock :(

it was at the time the 589, that they matched. I knew because of the lack of stock that there was little hope of getting the 529, so went for that, and with the £100 back its still not bad at 489.

Its annoying about the compact flash issue, buts its something to watch out for. There's no reason for it, Dixon have them ... and when I told an assistant there why I wanted to see a box he suspected foul play because the stock is bought by the same buyer .... This seems correct because I examined the Dixons box and you can see a new sticker over the orignal US serial no. sticker like mine has, but they had the dark circular compact flash sticker on the box too...

Curry's advertised the camera with the £100 cashback & the 256Mb memory card offer, so I would say that legally we are covered if Canon refuse to cough up.
