    HI Justica,

That was my initial feelings too, but Im going to give him the benefit of the doubt on it and see what comes out of it now that he knows that I can prove what I posted on weight. I guess that if he does come back after that, then he feels that he can prove his side too and then perhaps something has gone missing in the post.

The more I think about it the more annoyed Im feeling as it has made me wonder whether he is trying it with me just because I am not a regular on ebay and in the two years Ive had an account this is only the second time Ive even used the thing! So from his side he probably thinks that I would rather send him money to get out of getting negative feedback and get him to give me a positive on my account with only one feedback.

The really annoying thing about the whole experience is that I was sooo paranoid that it might go missing in the post that even though I had stated it would be posted I ended up using Parcelforce which cost my friend £12 more than the postage I stated. Don't get me wrong it was our choice to do it so she doesnt mind the extra cost, but for that to still not be enough to safeguard us from problems is so annoying. What more can anyone do?

Anyway, enough grumbling, Ill let you all know how I get on! Might be helpful for the next person who experiences such a thing!

Please do keep this thread updated, as it's definately an interesting one :)

I don't know how much you sold it for, but you could possibily have made more money selling the items in a few batches of less items and also covered yourself against this sort of problem.

I've had a few buyers who I suspected of telling me lies. Then again, I've had a few things go missing in the post.

Ok so the story so far!

After my message, we got this back:

hi, thanks for the prompt response. i understand your position but the package was not tampered with nor were there the exact ammount of o2 sims, therefore i will file a report as i did not recieve what i paid for unless a refund is provided as to compensate for my loss. those are my principles, i am not suggesting or accusing you of any wrong doing, but i purchase hundreds of sims weekly and this is the first instance where which false advertisement has occured, hence my first report will be filed to ebay.

    And our response:

    'hi,

Thats ok I understand your position, but we also stand by ours in that we are 100% sure that we have posted the exact number of sim cards as stated in our advert and therefore will not be able to compensate you. As you can see from our profile, we are not regular sellers nor buyers on ebay and posted the sim cards to purely clear space in our house. The money which each sim card equates to is really not in our interest at all to lie about such a matter. As we suggested earlier please weigh the item as delivered, as this will provide the proof required as to what has been posted. We have the reciept with your address clearly stated upon it from Parcelforce stating the postage paid, and can therefore prove quite simply by weight what has been posted. This is something which we are going to carry out ourselves and send the information through to ebay for them to verify on our behalf.

We have already been in communication with ebay regarding this matter, as we were quite dismayed to read your initial message and felt that we should seek advice. Please do also file a report to ebay.'

All happened yesterday, and so far Ive heard nothing more from ebay (i did email them myself before his threat) or the buyer. Strange thing is he hasnt left any feedback on my account either, should I go ahead and leave the negative feedback?

I think i'll contact you for help with wording emails if i ever get any trouble! Your responses are excellent!

I noticed the way the buyer had 'ignored' the bit about the weight in your first response.

I'm touching wood when i say this but if they do file a report i really think you might have a chance of it going in your favour. Good Luck.

    Carrie x :)

    Thanks Carrie,
I hope so too out of principal! I find it odd that he came back and said the box hadnt been tampered with, but wont acknowledge the weighing option either. If i put myself in his position and imagine that I had received the wrong amount of goods, then I would go through all options and would definately consider that it may be the fault of Parcelforce taking some of the items out.

A friend was telling me that claims against Parcelforce have to be made pretty quick, so if I was him I would just get on with weighing them, as if he is telling the truth and assuming that I am also telling the truth then it could be the post and I would want to investigate it if I was him.

He doesnt seem to be too keen!

I wouldn't leave any feedback yet. You will be open to a neg back from him. I'd would wait to see how this pans out.

It will be interesting to see if he takes notice of your email and actually gets the item weighed. Be wary though, I wouldn't be surprised if he weighes them minus a few sims.

If you need the weight of any amount of sim cards let me know as i have many unopened o2 sims at home and will be happy to weigh them for you.

    Carrie :)

Sorry if I've missed this in the thread but how did your buyer pay?

If he used paypal he could do a sneaky claim for item not received, and I don't believe parcelforce is an acceptable tracked method for paypal so you would lose.

If he paid by cheque or indeed any other non paypal method then his only recourse would be via an ebay claim which would cost him an admin fee of £15.

    Hi Soolin,

He did pay via paypal, is there anything I can do to help myself against his false claim?
