Whilst Play.com are good for the sales of new DVDs, I don't think they operate a DVD rental service via post which is what this thread is all about.

Video Island are offering a free14 day DVD rental trial when you register.The post trial cost is £2.99/week for 2 DVDs at a time or £3.99/week for 3 DVDs held at a time.

Has anyone used Video Island or has anyone got any codes to use the free trial more advantageously.

Anyone else had problems with Screen Select trials ???

I used a 30 day free trial offer which stated when I needed to end the trial to avoid the monthly charge. I cancelled before the end of the trial period and have now found out that they have taken out the monthly charge from my credit card and are advising that I did not enter the correct promotion code (I know that this is not right). I have today just had a letter which states that they have not received back one of the DVDs - this is a month after my having cancelled. Disputing this with Screen Select etc etc but not a v.happy bunny >:(

I didn't have any problems cancelling the screenselect trial.

But they seem to have a problem at their post office over DVDs getting 'lost' in the post - during my 21 day trial 3 went astray!!

They changed their return address - this caused a problem because the new address wouldn't accept their freepost address (they'd just stuck stickers on their old envelopes) - when I rang them about the delays I'd noticed since they changed their return address they said they were trying to get their returns via a different sorting office because of the high number of 'lost' items they were experiencing nationally!  Next thing, they were back using the original return address!

Hi there finally registered intending to tell u guys about love film.com! oh well, I have nearly completed freeserve free trial it has been lovely watching loads of freebies! no trouble at all and have recd free week from them. So will cancel next week before charging starts. Did choose some dire films but can only blame self!

Kahunahen - check the usual cashback sites. You definitely get rpoints if you join through them - not sure about Greasypalm, mutualpoints etc.

::)i buy my dvd,s from BLACKSTAR.CO.UK.i find they are so cheap its not worth renting.if you buy one and get a friend to buy another then swap them over.after wathcing them do what i do and sell them at a car boot sale and recoup approx half my money back.hey presto its cheaper than renting.
