  • All this Harry Potter talk resulted in me sitting up til 3am this morning re-reading Deathly Hallows (and I won't admit what time I slept into as a result... :o)

Pip's Mum - I think there's some hex on boilers meaning thtey always break down/need repaired/replaced at precisely the worst moment. They're nearly as bad as washing machines

Best of luck in your quest to batter down Lucius. We're all cheering you on! :j

Andrina I will not accept the blame for your nocturnal sessions with harry!!!

In some ways I am glad it went now as if it had gone in Winter it would have been even more rubbish as we wouldnt have had any heat. Man from British Gas said that with the new boiler we will save 25% on our gas bill so thats cool.

Just been to Morrisons to get my basics for next weeks meals and I only bought value stuff and it came to £16! I was sooooo annoyed, food is now the only place we can make a saving and that isnt even possible, grrrrrrrr!

    MUMMYS!!! I need help.

Pip cannot understand how to drink milk in his high chair. He holds his bottle fine in his bouncy chair and kind of tips it up to keep him from sucking air but when he is in his high chair he just crys and wont even attempt to hold the bottle let alone tip it. Ive tried him with a beaker a few times but he doesnt understand that either.

    Any ideas?

  • have you tried a cup? no lid - hysterically messy to begin with but with tiny drops in the bottom - he might get the hang of it?

    hugs baby

  • With ds2 i got a beaker that wasnt spill proof to let him get the hang of the different shape spout and then once he got the hang of that moved onto a spill proof beaker. Keep trying, he will get the hang of it.

or the avent bottles have handles that you can buy that turn it into a beaker with a teat..................................

    Uh Oh!!
    Pip is crawling!!
Just had to go and buy the baby gates for the stairs and kitchen got them reduced form £24 to £21 and points on my Toys r us card too.

Thanks for the tips about high chair, he just doesnt seem to work out to tip your head back, lol!

Boiler has been fitted, it took 2 of them 9 hours to fit so to be fait I think they earned their money. They had to fit a new flue and brick it up inside and out, they even tidied up! Its nice to have hot water on tap again.

Hall, stairs and landing have been painted and looks fab, much nicer and cleaner. He gave us the leftover paint which was well over half of a trade tub so think i have enough to do my living room with it!!:T

Nothing DFWish going to wait and see how much I get paid in September as thats the tricky month due to the way my work does their cut off dates for pay. After that I am ready to bash Lucius!!:D

Been doing lots of planning for Pips 1st Birthday party and I am going to do him a Teddy Bears Picnic. Setting a budget of £30 to include decorations, napkins plates and such, food for 25+ people and the cake. Going to make the cake myself., going to shape a 1 out of loaf tin cakes, cover it in Vanilla buttercream died green and make some bears out of brown roya icing which is £2.49 a pack. In my head its a beautiful cake, wonder if it will turn out as good? :rotfl:

Ds2 is 1 tomorrow but we had his party tea yesterday so all the family could come. My one word of advice: get as much done the day before as possible!!!! who would of thought a babies party tea could be so stressful!

    Grrrr!
I am not even back at work yet and I already have childcare issues!!

Work rang and said was I flexible in September as they need me to run a training group on another site over and hour away. It will be a full week of 2pm - 8pm and they will pay me £32 a day petrol and pay me 2 hours a day travelling time! I really cant say no on financial grounds and on a being flexible and staying on the training team way.

My Mum can look after Pip on the Mon, Tues and Friday but other days are a problem as she works. OH would usually be able to do it but the other 2 people in his dept are on courses so he is the only 1 in the office. I think my 19yr old cousin is able to look after him on Wednesday as thats her day off work but I am stuck on the Thursday, can I post him to any of you? :rotfl::rotfl:

Just added up that for working that 1 week alone I would get £415 before tax! Thats alot that I can throw at Lucius :T :T

Just checked online banking and its plodding along OK, be good to go back to work though as its in need of a boost!

Need to Ebay some more stuff as i need to raise £400 for the flats HIP still.

Hmmmmm all for now, byesie bye x x
