Pip is a bit better thanks Rags, still a bit loose and snotty but on the mend. In fact he has just done his first proper smile, not windy smile!!
Have had a lovely day so far just pottering round.
Yesterday I got 4 cabbages for 15p and 4 swedes for 15p so I just chopped, par boiled and froze them. I then used the same water to boil my bacon joint (that will do dinner tomorrow and OHs sarnies) then used the water to make a yummy risotto.
I burned all my old bank statements and bills in the BBQ, may seem not very MSE but figured it would be expensive to get my details cloned.:money:
Registered for a company that lets you try new cosmetics and toiletries and for Shop and scan (thanks Rags). Hope to get selected for them as at the minute I am waiting for a scanner for another company (Nielsen/fact finders) but they pay you in points that can only be redeemed against a catologue of items.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Are you on target for living on £4k for the year???? how much a month do you have to spend on that challenge? does that include all household bills or extra's????December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

You are so right rags is amazing to see his little face light up with a smile:j
On the live on £4000 challenge is really up to you what you include. The VERY frugal include their gas and electric but alot of us just do non essentials.
It works out at £330 per month and I include Petrol, Tv license, Grocerys (food and non food like cleaning and toiletries), entertainment, Presents for birthdays and the like, and general other stuff. I started of including things for Pip but he proved to be a bit too expensive!!!
Some people with kiddies do £4000 plus child benefit challenge.
I am quite pleased with how I am doing as I am about £47 over budget so far but thats because I stocked up from Approved foods and Costco so I should balance up next month.
We are trying to fill in the blooming working tax credit form...... all 20 odd pages!! I need a stiff drink!!!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Helloooooo!!!
Hampster - Havent even attempted to capture the smiles as I know he will stop the second I get the camera out and I will get frustrated!!:rotfl:
Talking of frustrated, I am trying to sort out my mortgage and contents insurance:mad: What a nightmare both are turning into. Hoping for a mortgage payment holiday from May so fingers crossed, apparently they are all being very generous wth these things at the min so hope it will work out for me. Trying to find a cheaper contents insurance qoute and cashback too, trying to match them up is driving me loopy.
Having loads of problems with YouGov as everytime I try to log in my anti virus warns me there is Malware and shuts down. Anyone else having the same?

Dont know if its any help, but when we did the renewal of our policies, even after shopping around and taking cashback into account we were still cheaper with AA, long shot, but may be worth a try, there on Mutual Points for cash back. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I just wanted to tell you all about Earth Hour,
On Saturday 28 March 2009 at 8.30pm, people, businesses and iconic buildings around the world will switch off their lights for an hour – WWF’s Earth Hour.
We want a billion people around the world to sign up and join in.
Sign up to show that you care about people, wildlife and the planet, and that you want the world’s leaders to take action to tackle climate change.

We did it last year and ended up staying with no electric on for the entire night and played cards with friends by candlelight and had a really great night. It did wonders for the environment and also for our bank balance as no electric.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Oh dear oh dear, it has been a long time since I posted:eek:
Just been really busy and not managed to find a spare minute or two to log on.
Not much DFW has been going on, managed a few NSDs and well within my budgets for £4000 challenge for the month.
Mainly been sorting out things for Pips Naming Ceremony and trying to source things as cheap as poss. Have got a lovely book of readings to sit and flick through and choose from I particularly liked this one.
At seven o’clock every evening my mum tucks me up in my bed.
I’m nice and snug in my ‘jamas, beside me my faithful old ted.
I always nod off very quickly – before mum has turned out the light, but when it’s her bedtime much later, well then I wake up for the night.
For there’s no time of day I like better, than the hours between midnight and three.
For mum hasn’t got any housework and can give her attention to me.
And when I start yelling and shouting, mum knows that she has to be quick, For the night that she leaves me to grizzle, is the night I decide to be sick.
But mum can’t mind in the slightest at being my playmate ‘till two-
She’d normally spend this time sleeping, for she’s nothing much better to do.
Some nights she mixes a cocktail from the bottles she keeps on the shelf,
Which sometimes she gives me to swallow – and sometimes she gulps down herself!
And if in the morning I’m sleepy and feel in need of a perk,
I can have forty winks in my pushchair while mummy gets on with her work.
But nothing’s as nice as the nighttime. And nothing can equal the pleasure Of finding it’s four in the morning and being mum’s wide-awake treasure.
Definatley one for all the mummys out there!!
