  • Hiya pipsmum, i agree with sue and tiny, we mothers fret more (are they warm enough/is his nappy on ok/should i change it again incase he is uncomfortable/is he eating enough/should he be sleeping more or less/when should i bath him...........) where as blokes dont worry about that stuff as we do enough for the whole family!!! Plus they mostly associate us with food for a while. Just wait till he falls over and scrapes his knee then see who he runs too!!! (plus boys almost always turn into mummies boys!!:D ) Ds2 would only sleep when on someones chest when he was first born. I didnt sleep for 36 hours after labour (had him at 1am) as scared i would crush him or something if i fell asleep and all the other mothers in the bay gave me a disgruntled look as my little angel ( ) exercised his lungs when i put him down.

on the losing time front, would you have believed us???? i know i didnt thinking i was super organised, how wrong i was!!!!! It does get easier as the little ones get older and sleep less during the day!

Hope the pizza was good? I was naughty too and my and my fella shared a take away curry!!! it tasted nice untill the guilt kicked in that the tenner could of gone towards the debt........... my fella is working extra this weekend and usually get a take away to treat ourselves and put the rest to the debts with the extra money so will count it as that.

Take care, hoping your not feeling too sore now from your surgery.

    Hello

PIP (happy Hampster!!) is still being good. Last night was a little trickier as MIL didnt leave until 23.00:eek: so by the time we got ourselves sorted and all ready it was about 1.00 before we went to bed. Pip also decided that he didnt really want to go in his moses basket as he had been held all day by visitors so grizzled a fair bit. I got up with him in the night and then OH took him downstairs at 8.30ish so I could have a lie in.
Finally got round to paying my bills and some credit card debts today so need to update my signature. Had another NSd and went to MIL for lunch so will only need a snack for tea tonight.

Taking all of your words for it that the organisation thing will kick back in eventually. Went to my mums yesterday and it took us over an hour to get ready!! OH and I fell out as he was tired, I went into mothercare and came out to find him trying to change a kicking screaming Aiden one handed on the front seat of car as "I had been too long".:rotfl:Friends again now though.

Pizza was nice until, as you say rags, the guilt kicked in!!

  • This worked for me with DS.....I went to bed early....say 10 and my mum (no OH) stayed up and did the late feed and put him down...then i did all the middle of the night malarky. Might help you feel a bit more human for these first weeks.

  • hellowave.gif Hello!!

just to warn you that that will prob be the first of many arguements that you will have!!! some of them are on things so silly due to lack of sleep. I remember me and my fella had a massive falling out over how he stacked the clean pots on the dish drainer and i did it different!!!!!:rotfl: PMT times 100!!!!!!

You are still doing well with getting your debts down!!! think it took me a month after ds2 to think about real life!

and yes, somehow you learn to fit almost everything in, and come to realise that nothing bad will happen if your house isnt gleaming and your still in your pj's and dressing gown at 1pm in the afternoon!!!!

    take care hun

  • Glad your dh let you have a lie in! it always helps, i remember getting up all night and then dh would take them downstairs once it got to about 7 and let me have a few hrs till next feed, it really helped. remember your getting over surgery on top of looking after a little one so you will be more run down!!

I agree with rags on the silly arguments, we often had silly ones that were over nothing and then soon forgoten about.....
Glad your still doing well. And the debts and repayments etc etc can have some more of your time back when things have settled back down.....

    Hello All

I am very tired today as Pip decided to be a little b***er last night, typically I felt poorly too, had temperature and felt really yuck.
He seems to be eating for britain, he has about 150ml every 2.5 - 3 hours, does that sound alot to anyone else? Because he was a big baby I wondered if I needed to give him a different formula, at minute he is having breast milk and being topped up with 1st stage milk.
Not doing much DFW at minute just a couple of bits here and there to keep my hand in!!

  • Hello pipsmum! Bless him keeping you up all night.. As for the amount of milk that should be fine, they say babies often have a growth spurt and are really hungry at about 10 days so that would work out about now for Aiden. there is a hungrier baby milk that is suitable from birth but i would hold of giving that for a while yet.

Hope he is a bit better tonight.
