Ha ha ha !! You lot make me laugh!!:rotfl:

Lemma1968 I think I have to award it to you!!

:ABaby Aidan was born at 14.23 on Friday 9th January by Emergency Caesarean, weighing.........wait for it...........9lbs 4.5oz.:A

Gory details - Look away now!!

Went in for induction and they found I was 3 cms dilated so woudnt bother with gel and would just break my waters. They did that at just gone Midnight and I was 5cms dilated, contractions started fairly quickly actually but were weak so they gave me Syntocin drip and they got really strong.
Being a chicken I had the epidural and it was FANTASTIC had a snooze and didnt feel a thing. Pain then got really strong 4 contractions in 10mins, I had to have gas and air, but my midwife didnt believe me!! They changed shift at 7am and I didnt get given a midwife I got given an Angel as she was wonderful. She got an anaesthetist to come straight away and he took one look and said no wonder its not working its not in your back!! Previous midwife hadnt secured it correctly or checked it, I am really lucky not to have permanent damage to my spine. He did it agin and of course pain relief came back.
Obstetrician came at 12.30 midday Friday and said your not progresssing at all, in fact had gone backwards so they decided to do an Emergency C section. Very scary but did get to see Chris (OH) in Scrubs. All of the theatre staff were nice and my Angel midwife stayed over her shift so she could come with me. They played a CD in the theatre ( I think to make me smile as I had been crying) and it was all silly Op themed songs like "the first cut is the deepest" really made me laugh and relax.
So Aidan was born and they weighed him and I nearly passed out!! They dont think I would have ever have managed to have him naturally.

We are all fine, they let us home yesterday night ( see I wasnt just being awkward!!). I am just a little bit sore, Aidan as a funny shaped head from being stuck and Chris is a little shell shocked!!

    Sorry REALLY long post!!!
Will be on and off here now so looking forward to catching up with you all x x x

    CONGRATULATIONS

    I told you so!!!!!!

    That is so weird.

I'm so happy for you. Having had 2 c sections i can say that you do bounce back fairly quickly, just make sure everyone else makes the tea, gets the biccies, changes yukky bots etc. You just do the nice bits and get your strength back.

  • Arnica - great for all bruises - and can be used on mums and children - I used to like it in ointment form for rubbing on knocks and bumps, rather than tablet form - its soothing as well as healing, and I didn't really like the sprogs taking medicines in if they didn't need to.

Well done to mum and new baby - glad its all gone well.

    Hello!
Oh good grief why do I now have about 12 hours less each day?
I seem to wake up and then look at the clock at its bedtime again.

Aiden is still very good. Does seem to behave better for daddy than mummy which I am trying not to take personally!!
Went to Tesco yesterday for a few bits so need to update my grocery challenge. Sealed pot hasnt been fed as I havent really been out so havent had any change.
Just had take out pizza as neither of us could be bothered to make anything so not very MSE but surely your halo is allowed to sleep a little with a newborn?

I'm sure tinypaws is right about the boobs being a pest for us, but also think the guys don't have so much responsibility of the caring for them whereas we do and are enclined to worry more about them and they soon pick up on it.

    So, relaxed dad, happier baby.
