Oh Pips mum, I think you are "nesting". I did it every time. I just had to get house sorted. Do take it slowly though, you have to look after yourself.

I agree wholeheartedly with mrs-d in the nesting bit. I did exactly as you're doing each time ...couldn't do enough housework in fact. I think partly it's a nesting thing, the other part is being so fed up with the waiting.

Do get enough rest though PM!!!

    Hello All
Just sat down for a minutes rest in the grand clean up!
My Dad was bought up in Corby where there is a very strong Scottish community. So every New Years Eve my Dad always cleans the house top to bottom, no dirty washing, empty the bins, take down old calendars and he even does first footing! So this has been permanantly engraved on me now, 9 months pregnant or not!!
I did just wash down woodwork though which is a new addition to the routine!

We thought it was all kicking off last night as I was getting regular contractions but really low down, they carried on all night and were quite painful but stopped in the early hours of morning.

Just had a nice looking man in uniform in my living room (was tempted to see if he would oblige with the other well known method of bringing on labour as OHs obviously isnt working lol!!) It was the police who wanted to look in our garden as a couple of doors down got broken into last night between 3 + 4 am. I bet I was up at some point during that hour but didnt hear anything. Its freaked me out a little though.
Well LONG ramble so will get back to my cleaning and see what else developes.

  • ooh, you could be in very early labour?????? with ds2 all my contractions were low down the bump which the midwife took as not in labour, how wrong she was!!!!

i had a few false alarms with ds2 but apparently they have a purpose. they are supposed to be getting the cervix to soften and start dilitaing (sp?)

keep us informed if anything more progressees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
