And the original poster has been parking their for over a year and i guess the other residents have been for years i think we can tell what category these lines fall under.

Stop digging yourself in to a deeper hole.

Did you find anything to support your claim that a resident has the " right " to park outside their home?

    No, I thought not.
  • I never said that i said that my whole argument is based on dubious laying down of yellow lines. There are yellow lines on my street that have been ignored for years as everyone knows they are a joke even the council don't enforce them. But only the original poster knows what the circumstances are.

Unless the council can prove that parking their constitutes a danger of course they have. Its peoples attitude like yours which allows this useless government to pass hundreds of laws a year unopposed.

    I think that you did..
  • Its every Englishmans right to park outside their castle, and stuff the Sheriff ; )

    Indeed... :rotfl:
  • No just no willing to bend over and take it up the a** like some folk. Just because someone has put yellow lines down does not make it right they have a duty to justify their actions. If the locals have been parking their for years then they will have a hard job

Not if the council have followed correct procedures, then there is very little anyone can do about it, other than move home and buy a property with off street parking.

It will end up in court if you do not pay it and to be honest they cannot pay it. The whole street would then be slapped with tickets, and thats wrong. You should have the right to park outside your house. I assume that they have been parking there for years so obviously its not dangerous. Probaly find its some hitler warden just started.

    Why should you?

You also said that people should have a right to park outside their houses.

    And they don't.

If the charge was issued correctly then it should be paid and the OP should be looking for somewhere else to park

Getting away with something for years doesn't mean you can moan when you don't get away with something.
As for inappropraite yellow lines, the thing to do is challenge the lines BEFORE you park on them. There's no point challening their placing afetr getting a ticket.

Are you willing to cover the OPs costs if he follows your advice? You've avoided the question once, come on be brave enough to back up your advice.

My moneysaving advice is to pay it.:D
