The original post on this thread was made in 2003 and it's something to do with when they updated the site (that's about as technical as I can be about it!).

    Hiya,
I've had a look at 5 minutes away & the main supermarket sites, but thought I'd tap into local expertise if I can. We're looking for somewhere to break our journey to Cornwall. Can anyone recommend somewhere we can stop for breakfast & petrol near the M5 between Bristol & Bridgewater?
    Ta much in advance

If we are tapping into local knowledge, any traffic blackspots to avoid on the way to Truro/Falmouth?
Someone on here mentioned one last year & I remembered about it.... as we joined the back of a 1Hr queue.

Could we not boycott motorway service stations?

    We should all ignore them.

Carry a can of spare petrol AFTER filling up BEFORE leaving home
Carry some snacks, make a sandwich etc

    BINGO !

Consumer revenge.....they will have no option but to match Tesco prices.

    Bon voayge!

Yeah, but they'll close if we boycot them so you won't be able to do that.
  • I haven't read all the threads, so I apologise if this has been mentioned, but the Good Pub Guide is excellent for this!

It has a section informing you of great pubs that do food which are only a couple of miles from Motorway junctions.

Believe me there are some great ones, and the food is often way cheaper and vastly better than the cack you get a service stations.
