Hi there
I have just made a load of soup and want to freeze for later. Any suggestions on what I can use to freeze it in? I have clip & lock containers, but would prefer not to use them.

depend what size portions you need to freeze them in
1lire milk jug things
2 litre ones
i use 2 litre tubs i got cheap as a job lot (of 50)
but we are a family of 5, 3 of them teens
empty butter tubs?0 -
Really, any plastic containers will do. I use various *tupperware* type containers, but you can use empty marg or ice cream tubs if you have any. You can also buy *pour and store* bags for liquidy things that need freezing.0

Food bags are fine, drape them over a clip and lock, pour in soup, tye a knot in the top, then put in freezer, once its frozen you can take your container out of the freezer and leave the bag of soup in the freezer.0

Line your clip and lock boxes with a sandwich bag and pop the soup in there. Once they are frozen into handy size freezer blocks, slide the bag out leaving your boxes free to use.
You can then put them back in for pack lunches etc and theres no leaks!
I used to do this for individual portions of soup/chilli/stews etc but using a bowl, which meant I just unwrapped it and had exactly the right amount.

I like the plastic take-away type containers as they are reasonable portion sizes and stack so well. 5/99p.

I would freeze it in the tupperware or whatever, take it out of the box once it's frozen and then put it in a bag - easier to get out of the bag that way. I freeze soup in mugs then do this so I have frozen cuppasoup portions for lunchesSo, there are these boys,

I use small zip-lock bags for soup.......
Pour in one or two portions, close the zipper and gently flatten out. Freeze on a tray, then you can stand about 10 in an ice cream box. Saves a lot of freezer space!0
